i'll propably get the x-box version when it's out seeing as it's much cheaper then upgrading my pc to the specs needed for games like doom3, half live 2 and far cry :Hangman:
Not to say that these screenshots are indicative of the final product, but it would have been nice if they had spent as much time making a smooth, non-blocky model of the Hell Knight as they did making sure there were a bajillion ambient light sources for each one... By the by, who is handling the XBox port of this? Me, I've had the damn PC version on preorder since December. And since it's not going to be released any time soon, that gives me a chance to get a job and find myself some new system parts - I'll finally break the 1Ghz barrier, baby!
I miss my 3ghz beast on the other hand i have bugger all interest in hl2/doom 3/ut2k4 if you want to play a superior game imo you should be on battlefield 1942 / battlefield vietnam :axe:
I've played BF:V, and while it was a very fun game, it suffered terribly from what I call "Counter-Strike Syndrome," namely, gameplay that isn't very consistant on things like number of shots in a certian part of the body it takes to kill someone, or registering hits (such as when a guy is driving a tank and his head is sticking out of the hatch, but a direct hit with a rifle registers as a tank hit, not a player hit). I prefer the fantasy style games - Unreal Tournament, Quake, Halo, etc., where at least things are generally more consistant as far as gameplay, but that's just me.
I must say I am a massive Half-life fanyboy....though I hate Counterstrike and TeamFortress ^_^. Doom 3 looks sweet...and by the time ti is out I shall have just bought my new machien for going to Uni....so I'll be able to handle it But for now I have to use this P3 1ghz shie-box.
I like HL also. Team Fortress Classic was the first game i played online a lot ( I used to play Quake 1 and Quake 2, but not much ). But one thing i hate about TFC nowadays is that they never updated the textures and the maps. It's the same game from 5 years ago. Anyway, i do play Counter Strike sometimes, but i prefer mods like Day of Defeat, The Specialists and FireArms. I used to play Quake 3 a lot too, but lost the CD, so i kinda forgot about it. Played UT for some time too. Looking forward for UT2004
Counterstrike and TFC just never really stuck with me.... I used to just play standard HL Deathmatch online....but these days I play Alot of Science and Industry, Sven Co-op, Opposing Force and a few other mods ^_^ And occasionally a bit of Half-life Rally....though racing games aren't my thing much ^_^ Oh, and Natural Selection ^_^
I've seen bits of the leak running on my mates machine. What I saw was quite good ^_^ But his machine isn't all that great (way better than mine though) so we couldn't see everything. Lots of cool lighting effects going on though Anybody here played the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. leak? I played it and was surprised to find it ran smooth as hell on my machine...problem was it is an alpha leak so alot of it didn't work ^_^ I also played the HL2 leak....it was good to have a little look around..but I didn't explore it too much....Didn't want to ruin the final game for me Though I did enjoy messing with the new Worldcraft and Buggy's :smt040
Oooh, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. leak? I didn't know there WAS one, I'm gonna have to find that!! And Johnny, UT2K4 has been out here for nearly a month - if you want a copy, there's a place here selling for $30.
If you can't find the link I might have it on my PC somewhere still...though thats not a promise. I run on very limited HDD space so I have to clean out files regularly Yet another reason to look forward to my new machine ^_^
