Could this be an unknown DC - it appears in a Famitsu book. It looks to match the Sakura Party VMU that Yakumo published on Segagagadomain....
Can you post the whole page? It's a not-for-sale Dreamcast, and was given away in a raffle (or was going to be given away in a raffle). It apparently predates the Sakura Taisen DC by years. Thos types of ads generally tell how much of each prize there are. It'd be nice to see the whole page.
Guess I should have bought those sakura wars dreamcasts when they were clearance for 8000 yen in tokyo ....
Again a scan from the Sega Consumer History book. The picture shows the Taishouroumandou Dreamcast model. Calling this a "new dreamcast discovery" is just laughable. Can you stop it please. Regards, Kindaichi
>>Again a scan from the Sega Consumer History book. Very true......it's a really good book....shame the pics are so small in it. >>The picture shows the Taishouroumandou Dreamcast model. Cool we have a translated name for it. Thanks... >>Calling this a "new dreamcast discovery" is just laughable. Alas, we're not all as smart as you...and it's not common knowledge it exists - I've never even seen a non-japanese website which shows a pic or even talks about....I've never seen it mentioned on any forum, so it's new to the community in my book! >>Can you stop it please. No....! Would be cool if you could list all DCs created and supply pics of each one...cheers
(^o^) Yeah, it's not bad. But I was disappointed they didn't wait until the Dreamcasts very end and release a full and complete guide for all the Sega systems. It's like unfinished business... Better than most other Sega related books in Japan though. Sorry, it's no translation. It's just the arabic spelling of the Kanji combination. It's common knowledge at least in Japan. And I'm sure some people here have heard about the unit too. I didn't want to offend you. Well, I wasn't expecting you to do so! :smt043 I'm not in the mood to do so. I have several reasons for it, e.g. a few months back I tried to tell some of the Dreamcasthistory guys that their site is full of errors but was ignored. It'd be so easy: just buy the Japanese Dreamcast mags and books, read about the models and then publish your "new" wisdom on your webpage. But they won't do it, they stick to their wrong data and spread false information on the net. I don't help such people. It's a waste of time. Well, it has nothing to do with you, but those days I'm a bit pissed. :smt009 Take care and best regards, Kindaichi
>>e.g. a few months back I tried to tell some of the Dreamcasthistory guys >>that their site is full of errors but was ignored. Well the guys (i.e. me ) at www.dreamcastgallery.com will pay attention and change the site to reflect your comments! If you should ever change your mind then I'd always welcome input to dreamcastgallery ( dreamcast@business-bytes.co.uk ) >> It'd be so easy: just buy the Japanese Dreamcast mags and books, read >> about the models and then publish your "new" wisdom on your webpage. >> But they won't do it, they stick to their wrong data and spread false >>information on the net. Yip. I agree. I've spent most of my money on yahoo on hardware so far, but maybe I should think about magazines. I'll wait until my Yahoo agent is available to buy for me again.....no guess who that is! Bought a few japanese books which have helped me alot....they are easier for me to get, magazines are harder without yahoo...:-(
I might have some Allah Akbar! I don't see any arabic characters. So where was it posetd before? I've never seen one until this post. I don't pretend to know everything about everything. Some units just go unnoticed. I doubt that most people here, even Saturn fans, know of the one-of-a-kind Gold Saturn.
that's funny. I live in Japan and am one of the biggest Dreamcast fans out there, yet I've never seen this Dreamcast. Yakumo
Yes, what ARE the multiple Sega books in Japan? I for one am VERY interested!! :smt043 :smt043 I take it that what was meant was either "roman characters" or "arabic numerals"? Oh heavens no, please don't offend us by telling us about a Dreamcast version we've never heard about. Talk down to us about our laughable discoveries that we obviously should have known about and treat us like fucking idiots, but PLEASE don't offend us with useful things! :smt120
... I still wear diapers and need to grow up :smt022 ... if you have nothing usefull to say then please just go be a whining kid on another forum. Edit by SilverBolt
>>losing your time over stupid things is pathetic... Guest - Keep pointless comments to yourself!.... Greatsaintlouis - I've found two books really good: Sega Hardware (all sega consoles): http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4757707894/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2/250-3720106-4940250 Dreamcast Japanese games: http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos...245/sr=1-18/ref=sr_1_2_18/250-3720106-4940250
Sorry I didn't post any earlier. yes, I have a pic in a mag... somewhere. I will dig it up and post it hopefully soon (week or two), and maybe, for only a moment, one-up Yakumo on all his obscurities-finding craziness. It was promo, and came with a gold modem as well. I believe it came out right when the modem came out, and was meant to push those sales. I'll have to dig it up. It was a very small picture. For all I know, some Sega janitor might have spray painted the thing a la Yakumo's Sega Saturn paint mod.
But is it a official release from SEGA or only a promotion from a magazine? Because I've been checking all the documents which I've stored for years and I haven't found anything similar to that called Gold Saturn or with that characteristics... Salutes.
Good luck mate :smt023 Seriously though, it's great if everyone can dig around to see what they can find. Yakumo
The Sega Janitor Saturn - ultra-rare, limited to only one, that's right boys and girls, ONE unit worldwide!! Something tells me that if this were the case, people would still pay lots of money for it, as it would still technically be a Sega release... :smt043
I'm not sure who ran the promo. I will have a look though. the page has been marked, but it's in a stack of about 30-40 Saturn mags that have something in them that I'm going to post on JG at some point in time... just need to get around to doing it. My supergun acting up takes first priority, considering I've spent about $600 on PCBs in the last month.
