probably more of the same. I suggest getting a real NES personally. I believe Kevtris is working on his own new system on a chip setup but who knows when thats gonna be ready

If I had to get a clone, I'd get one that's unique. Like one with a keyboard, printer port, and mouse. Not something ho-hum regular.

When I was 3 (now I'm 13 xD) I had a very cool Famiclone: that had Keyboard, Printer Port, Mouse and many many software. When it was dead, it was trashed out .-.

They probably just use a standard console. In this clone's case they took a normal Genesis 3 case and made a mold from that.

I don't know about the rest of you but any small changes in the way sound is generated and a clone is worthless to me.

That is why I scoff at all the clones, theres been little upgrade to the basic system on a chip setup so the same compatibility problems still arise. I hope eventually someone will create an entirely new clone that pushes for full compatibility as well as offering highest possible video output

    i know NOC's are cheap
but why cant cloners just use middle of the road quality parts
in a circuit board relatively the same size as the bored space a NOC takes up

ide happily pay $50 for a clone that worked as good if not better then the orig NES also region free and tv signal agnostic would be great too and a famicom cart port

The sound is what puts me off clones as well... But I believe there ARE good ones, somewhere.

I have a FC Twin, and I haven't tested the NES part enough to see how good the sound is, though. The SNES part is almost spot-on, I can tell you that.

Cloners don't care about the sound, because they use the cheapest parts possible for the Chinese market. Now, something like the FC Twin is obviously different...

I have an FC twin. Its garbage in my opinion. It looks and sounds like crap. But that is just my opinion. if you like blur and color bleed as well as complete missing sound channels then it might be better in your opinion.

(not trying to sound negative, i just feel ripped off for spending $60 on it.

Well, unfortunately, my uneducated and blind eyes, and non-refined savage ears did find this clone rather enjoyable.

But it was a gift, so yeah, sixty dollars does seem a bit high for it. I think the person who gave me the clone spent 25(- or 35 ) dollars on it in L.A.

Do revisit my post. The word "almost" was mentioned - and the NES was not evaluated. It probably is NOAC bad.

But for something to plug to a 1980s trinitron for a quick play, it's a good clone.

I will add, however, that SNES does look a bit different colourwise on the same TV. The colors do bleed from the FC Twin, but also, they look a bit more intense, which I like.

Sorry for the double post, but I was really curious about this, and just today a friend of mine brought me a bag of old NES games and a NES as a gift.

The NES didn't work, so I dug out the FC Twin.

Bomberhead, you were so absolutely right, beyond reproach. The sound on the NES half on the FC Twin is like death itself anally raping your ears, if that is possible.

    Godawful.

The SNES, though, is fantastic still.

alls you need to do is replace the 72 pin connector and it will work like a charm NES's are really hard to kill unless you had a flood

Yeah, it's the connector alright. You can actually feel the cart not making any contact with them when you insert it. It's completely loose.

My own NES does work, however, and I've tested all the carts. It's all pure treasure, a smorgasboard of it.

My friend's mom was going to toss this, and my friend went back home to get me the stuff instead, because she heard I collect.
Among her "garbage" I found: Final Fantasy, with manual and map, Zelda, with box, manual and maps, another Zelda, loose, Zelda 2, loose, Ice Hockey, Ultima with map and manual, Dragon Warrior 2, 3, 4, with maps and manuals, Donkey Kong Classics, Mega Man 2, Top Gun, Willow, some weird "Kung Fu Heroes" cart by Culture Brain, and a pirate NES Adventure Island that says "Family Computer 冒険島 (yup, in correct Japanese) Whirlwind Manu" and marked "Taiwan Konami" in the back.

All this was "trash" to her.

I am both shocked and ecstatic.
