You can underline all you want, but as far as graphic design is concerned, especially tattoos, that's a tribal design. It's just what it's called. It doesn't matter that you came up with it. It doesn't matter that it's not from a tribe. That's just what it's called. You have a tribal tattoo.
Thats all good and fine except the video he sent me said "Don't get a tribal tattoo, you don't know what it means don't pretend you do" And my tattoo doesn't belong to a tribe and litterly has no meaning. Second he asked me if it belonged to a band and I kindly provided him the information and he linked me to a video which pretty much made me feel stupid and like I made a mistake and none of those guidelines he provided applied to my tattoo. My tattoo actually has meaning which reflects my heritage and my religion and that was kind of a shitty thing to do and I didn't find much humor in it. If he had an opinion he should have simply stated it instead of trying to make me feel like an idiot thats all I'm saying. I had this tattoo drawn out 4 months before I had it done it means something to me it wasn't a 5 minute idea job and no its not a band logo and no my "tribal" does not belong to a tribe and means litterly nothing. I'm sorry if there was a miscommunication on what my tattoo's meaning was but I was simply responding to a question he asked and he hit me with a parody of why tattoo's are stupid. Kind of a shitty thing to do thats all I'm saying if he doesn't like tattoo's or he didn't like it then thats all he had to say. Assembler provided his opinion kindly and provided a reason why he did not like the tribal there was no reason he couldn't have done the same. That is one hell of a cover job. Its really one of the better sleeves I have seen. In the future though there won't be need for cover jobs. They came out with new ink that is stored inside little mini bubbles that make the same effect as loose ink only difference is, if you ever want it removed you can get a laser to it (not the same as the laser method now) with little to no pain which instantly pops the bubbles and asborbs the ink. I just thought it was a cool fun fact.
What I agree is that you don't have a "band tattoo". It's an ancient symbol that a popular band used. Doesn't make it theirs.
If you can't poke fun at yourself, you need a reality check dude. How was that video any different than someone saying it looked like a beyblade? Get over it. It's your body, not mine. What you have permanently affixed to your flesh is your doing, and it shouldn't even matter to you what other people think. TL;DR - lighten up.
Sorry man your right. I come on assembler after work usually to unwind. and I just felt a like you were saying something permanant on my body was stupid due to a miscommunication. I come from a background of intelligent barbarian hackers on forums and I'm just used to the scene where everyone hates each other and everyone has ego problems and out for themselves. I need to know when to coast and get used to the new invironment. No hard feelings.
I guess I'm uncool..i don't like tattoos or piercings really, although I do wear an earring on my left ear.
Here's my tat - this was taken not long after it was done so it looks better worn in. Crack the code on this badboy! Oh and excuse the hairy back, i'm not one of these 'modern' men!
You should know then, a lot of Christians think those symbols are satanic ("Zoso" for instance comes from Thelema, and is possibly a tantric sex symbol.) John Paul Jone's symbol is Rosicrucian, to which most modern christians reject in one way or another.
Not the Christians I associate with, Its funny they would see that as satanic since it was litterly adopted as the trinity. If they think three Ιχθυς symboles that litterly represent Christianity represents satan then they must be brain damaged. That doesn't make you uncool, Infact I have only one earing in my left ear. The tattoo was something though that I have wanted for a long time, I did it mostly for me and not to be cool which is why I have it hid above my sleeve. You don't need tattoo's or piercings to be cool.
Two factors keep me away really from ink: a) the fact that I might regret the location, content or design at a later date/age b) the fact that it will inevitably wash out as one grows older, skins gets looser etc. it's like marrying it!
I don't understand why you guys would want to paint your skin. Of course, it's your skin, do what you want with it, and I'm not judging anyone in the slightest. Just that, well, I can't see what advantages there is to doing so.. How do you feel about it? What's the advantage of colouring your skin this way?
It is permanent in the sense that it will not be removed without a laser. However it makes the laser process like a 5 minute job and painless incase of regret. So no not really and yes at the same time. Its like a story on your skin, it should be very important to you and should represent something of yourself. Its a constant reminder that you are something or come from somewhere. Its an artistic expression if you will and you should never get a tattoo "just cause". People get tattoo's the same reason they walk around a locket or a cross around their neck or the same reason people wear wedding bands. Its like expressing yourself on the outside that you want either the world to see or serves a reminder of something. Mine serves as a reminder. It takes a certain type of person to get a tattoo but also takes a certain type of person to abuse tattoo's and give them a bad reputation. People don't understand that you should not get a tattoo because it makes you tough and thats where the bad reputation comes from. Tattoo's are an expression. In short there is no "advantage" and if someone expects an "advantage" from a tattoo they should not be getting one.
