Hello guys, For anyone who loves gaming, who loves the history of videogames, especially the history of Legendary Developer Rareware, take a look at this new and cool video, featuring new interviews with ex-rare employees. It also includes some new info and footage from Donkey Kong Country Development never seen before. Thanks for the guys at Digital Foundry for making this wonderfull video:
Interesting, it would be nice to see it run on the original settings on a PC before they downsampled it to Snes
Digital Foundry is where it's at. One of my favorite gaming sites. I'll definitely be giving this video a watch as I'm a pretty big DKC fan.
I was amazed how these guys at rare were true magicians!!! They were very innovative people on gaming industry, and it is very cool to see how hard was game development on their time. Nowadays anyone with minimal computer experience is able to create a game, with tools like Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Game Maker, and others. But on their time (rareware), for each game they would create an engine, rather, I think the term game engine did not exist on that time like it is now. They would get the code base of one game, then change in to another. I have watched the Jet Force Gemini Making off from Rare Replay, and they said there that they got the code base of diddy kong racing and changed it to have a basic 3rd person view for this new game. Cheers.
