I've had dreams of certain games such as Super Mario Sunshine and Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker being on Nintendo 64. I'm unsure if I'm right about this, but I thought I've seen people make new NES games from scratch, cartridge and all. Maybe one day they can do the same with Nintendo 64 and my dreams can come true.
It would be extremely hard to port those games to the N64. Even if you scaled down the graphics and other things to make it run, let alone got the games working on the completely different architecture, you have the problem with file size. It would never fit on a cart so you would need the N64DD and a lot of N64DD diskettes for this. You can't get new disks and even if you did get some blank disks, you can't write the games to them since the only people who were able to write games to disks that worked on non-dev hardware was Nintendo. You could of course try running it in emulation or make a flash cart required for it.
Oh, sorry. I'll remove that last line. It could be done but it wouldn't be the same. Worst case scenario, you have to strip features.
Were either of those games even N64 games in development (a la Animal Crossing or Dinosaur Planet/Star Fox Adventures?). Also until the patents on N64 PCBs expire the only way someone could make a game is for a flash cart.
