Posted the updated video finally. ( although it was really crappy quality ) So here is the new video of the new build :icon_bigg ( if anyone cares that is... lol ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXS4fieYros Note: I am not the coder... just the tester/recording person :110: also I had to use a random audio file from youtube to replace the sound of dogs barking in the background.... sorry about that -_- Thanks for Everything, PSPdemon PS: I'll put 3 more vids up soon once I get them converted/edited ( my camera made a huge 600mb video file for some reason...so I'm having to break it down into a much more manageable size. ) also, here is the coders website: http://www.emudev.org/drkIIRaziel/blog/
Nice to see you here, PSPdemon. This build looks like a very big improvement over the last build we seen (4x speed increase?) very nice. ;-)
heres another... now only 2 left.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skUS7UI5OGU ( again sorry for the quality... no way to dump frames right now -_- )
That's fucking awesome! Dreamcast on a PSP?? I would've thought that was impossible! Will you ever emulate a game completely with low-end graphics (like Chu! Chu! Rocket) with 100% speed? Howabout more graphic heavy games, like Shenmue or Soul Calibur?
Until it plays anything at a decent speed it's not awesome in my book. The Wii has a Saturn emulator that runs like shit as well. No point getting excited until it becomes a playable emulator. That's just my opinion though. Yakumo
is the program posted someware? I cant seem to find it. (if it says something in the vids, sorry, i'm not able to see them, my school blocked youtube.)
I think it's a cool technical feat. In practicality, I think emulating home systems of 32-bit and up is still not worth it in the big picture. Except maybe the N64 as it just feels wrong in my house.
you ask and i shall give ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhbWrb4528Q as for lighter games they do run really fast... however they suffer alot of graphic issues... so i dont plan on posting videos of them until those issues are resolved  not yet.... itll come when the coder says so :110: if only i was a coder  however he does have a blog/site that you can keep updates on ( and itll be the site he releases the emu on ) found here. http://www.emudev.org/drkIIRaziel/blog/ Thanks for Everything, PSPdemon PS: heres the crazy taxi video as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPCK08kBNzs
Which is fair enough, although I think a playable Saturn emulator on the Wii is never going to happen... Although from a technical veiwpoint emulators are impressive, the most outlandish one I heard of was someone writing a PC emulator on the Sam Coupe, which ran so slowly that you could read war and piece before it booted up...
The Wii Saturn emulator runs like shit because: a - The Saturn is a nightmare to emulate b - The Wii is about as powerful as my kettle Mark, don't belittle someone's work, it's pretty obvious the amount of effort that has gone into this, and it's an amazing technical achievement if you step back and compare the PSP and the DC's hardware/RAM. There's very little left for the PSP once you snatch enough resources for the DC to actually boot. The fact it runs this well is incredible.
I'm not belittling anyone's work. I'm just saying that emulation isn't much use to the average Joe until it reaches a realistic level of use. I know it's an achievement to get the DC running on the PSP, there's no denying that but like Jamtex said, a SamCoupe was running a PC Engine emulator but in reality it was useless.
Look at all the useless dev shit that passes hands here. Broken, and often by people that can't fully utilize it. But, It still floats some people's boat, which is exactly what this is meant to do at this point.
Fair enough but I'm allowed to have my own option, right? Some people may get all excited by this and that's fine  For me on the other hand I used to get excited about early EMU ports but these days I just don't see the point of becoming excited unless it's usable. Yakumo
Well if they released it as-is you could say it's crap, but it's still in development and more of a show and tell as to the fact people are still working on it, and improving it all the time.
It's interesting. I believe that the dreamcast emulator for the PSP will never reach full speed. But the guy is doing it anyway? I think he knows this, but why is he pursing.. too much time? Good effort though i guess.
There is a reason for his madness! :110: It's not that he is pushing for just the PSP port of the emu... infact its to push it to various platforms like Pandora and Wii ( as well as rewriting and optimizing whats there ). The PSP is just a added bonus
