Hi all, My name is Bob and I'm 41. Yes that's right, 41. I've been gaming for 30+ years, worked in the industry and gone through all the gaming ups and downs. Hoping my experience may be of some use to the whipper snappers. :friendly_wink:
Hello there Its always nice to see 'older' folk on the site as they can sometimes bring a different perspective to discussions etc. If you worked in the industry and have had some good/unique experiences people would love to hear them. Rob Where in the world are you from by the way?
I'm from Kent, England. I worked at Virgin Interactive Entertainment during their glory days. At the time we were distributing Lucasarts, Westwood and Capcom games if memory serves and they were great times. We got a copy of any games we published FOC so it was pretty bloody brilliant. As soon as a new game came in we'd be on the phone to other publishers. We'll send you x copies of Red Alert if you send us x copies of whatever. My first job was as a tester/support. I spent my days playing all of our games so I could answer any questions about them (+ an awful lot of Ultima Online and EQ). I imagine the industry is very different now.
Sounds good. I bet it was nice getting the Capcom games before anybody else over here (I am in the UK too) and I can imagine you were a popular guy with your mates who liked Street Fighter etc! Again welcome to the forum.
