I was browsing Mercado Livre (the brazilian equivalent to ebay) searching for Winning Eleven for the Gamecube. I didn't found it but I found this, which I think it is more interesting: A new patch for Winning Eleven 2002 for the Playstation 1. I didn't expect this patch to exist, I could understand a patch for the latest PES for the PS2 but not this. Here are some images that I got on the listing (sorry for their sizes): I can't think of any other recent patch released for a PS1 game. The seller is asking R$ 15 (US$5,67) for the game. I found this pretty interesting and decided to share it with you guys.
Wait, if this is Champions League 2014/15, why the hell in Man U in the game? Also how do you patch a PS1 game? Like upload the info to a memory card, or is it a ROM hack that would be a completely new .cdi?
It depends on what you're trying to do, I guess. If via an emulator, you could inject things directly into memory or modify the bios files. Otherwise, you could make a patcher that requires an ISO, then recompresses everything for usage either via an ISO or to play on physical hardware. *Shrug* Just a couple of ways we tested out making a translation patch for a PS1 game.
