From now on moderators will take an extra care to remove and warn individuals who
see fit to post offensive material, flame wars, general poor taste posts and the just plain moronic postings.

We also advise people to use the little button on the left of posts to report an offensive posting on the forum.

This goes as a warning to everyone and there will be consequences for those who wish
to make the forum a less then frendly place!

    Thank you

Wow, didn't notice that button before! What does it do, just send an email to the mod team?

On topic, that all sounds fair enough.

Yep it sends an e-mail to the mod team. Messages will most likely be dealt with very fast. (i just did a couple within 5mins of the report.)

Even if we cant deal with it for a few hours just dont reply to the posting and leave it up to us to deal with the message.

  4. Just a note: If anyone is going to report a post, PLEASE include a short, detailed reason for your request, and make sure that the request is valid as well. I'm not going to sort through my junk email and find every Assembler Bad Post Report, open it to see only "delete!" as the comment, and then click the link and find that it links to an absolutely unoffensive post in this very thread (you know who you are.)

Abuse of this system will be dealt with in a strict manner as well. There's no reason we can't all act like civilized adults on this board instead of goddamn GameFAQs denizens, but it's come down to this and I as a mod am not too thrilled about having to be a forum babysitter because some people can't keep themselves in line.

What exactly happened, that made this friendly message happen, may I know? Did I miss something?

What kind of post counts as moronic? Why does everyone seem to be angry?

I think it's just been many of the things that have happened lately. Petty arguments started for little reason that quickly go off topic and disrupt the flow of the topic, and so on.

Fortunatly, the ASSEMbler message board is fairly small when compared to other shithole message boards (The corrupt Gamefaqs message boards, which are starting to get even shittier then they were before), so I dare say that things like this can be dealt with on a more mature level when compared to larger forums.

Everyone is angry because the level of intelligence in the posts has dropped to new lows.

This is a message board about rare and dev items.

    Not about casual games discussion.

    Useless topics like:

XX system is better than XX system

Spam and crap posting: I have XXX posts

Posts made to throw a topic completely off focus :
EX: "I think ps3 will be hard to code for"
    (response) I think you are a moron/gay/lamer

We are a collectors, rare item and dev board.
We are not fucking IGN, or some general games forum.

Namely: if you don't have something good to say, don't just post for no reason.

I am personally going to start pruning CRAP posts from now on.

I swear, the first person who posts another "you fag" post is going to get burned.

People here are 100% entitled to their own POINT OF VIEW.
Just because they don't agree with you is no excuse to attack or feel the need to counter every thing they say. You must tolerate another person's feelings.
