Yesterday i apparently found new KHS-400c on Ebay. Does anybody had any experience with those lasers? As far as i know sony doesn't even produce those anymore. I thought about buying the replacement laser KHS-400w but those are too expensive and aren't available here in Germany. Here's a link to a new one with a 2 year warranty: http://www.ebay.de/itm/V1-V8-KHS-40...tion-2-PS2-Neu-2-Jahre-Garantie-/230696832876 im not sure if i can trust them, because its a chinese seller. Its only like 12€ so i think it no deal. I really need a new laser because my is worn out. OR should i just go with the used ones?

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply! What about backups? do they read Verbatim dvd-r's fine? I lately backed up all my games because they began scratching up real bad. And do i have to pot tweak anything or do they work out of the box?

Like proarturs said, they work fine. I have bought several Chinese lasers in the past and they boot CD/DVD CD-R/DVD-R no problem. You should find that you will need to de-solder the two little blobs of solder on the underside to get them working.. Its caught me out before!
