According to the head of SCEE http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=74069 Cheaper system could mean more people buy it. I certainly would, especially with some of the games scheduled for release (SotN!)
I wonder how they would make it smaller...Maybe a slot instead of a back that pops out? Thinner screen? Maybe adding TWO nub things, which should have been on it in the first place.
3 to 1 says it will now have two screens. :icon_bigg 50 to 1 says the redesign is more to get rid of the homebrew possibilities instead of making it cheaper.
Honestly looking at my psp, I'm not sure how they could trim much with the size of the screen. Even trimming the thickness of the psp seems almost impossible considering the umd drive. Unless there going to use a thinner screen and a umd drive that loads games a different way(possible top loading way perhaps?)
Probably top loading, yeah. The drive mechanism is probably quite costly in terms of manufacturing process, so I'd imagine that gets tweaked.
Hmmm. I was thinking about getting a PSP for my Birthday since its something I've been wanting for a while. There are tons of games on it that look appealing to me, and even the DS. The portable systems of this generation (and last gen, too) were the RPG kings, imo. There was even a PSP game that looked almost exactly like Arc the Lad in terms of graphical style and strategic gameplay. Portable OPs is fine, too, but MGS isn't what I'll be getting a PSP for. And I'm not really much of an MGS fan anymore, but I still play the games. Kinda like me and Final Fantasy. Speaking of the PS2P (or whatever it will be called), I don't know whether I'll get it or not. If it had a flip top, I MIGHT get it so the risk of damaging the screen would be a lot lower. I'd just like to know when/if its coming out and what it'll look like.
It's a new revision of the same hardware, not a successor. I just wanted to make that clear for people that haven't read the link :dammit:
C'mon guys, it's right there in the text. They're making it smaller, not changing the screen, and they wouldn't be changing the control method either.
Whoa, I remember you guys calling me a moron for saying that there was a new PSP on the way....... What about an apology? cuz you know, I was right with the hardware being the same (much like the GBA and the SP) and theres still nobody saying that it wont have some internal memory as I said, so the new PSP could be EXACTLY as I said it would:110: Anyway, I bet is going to be a clamshell now, cuz the screen gets scratched way too easily, and sony seems to like most of nintendo's ideas lately.
I once got flamed on another forum for saying that there would probably be a 4th Onimusha. When it finally came out, I went back in there and laughed at them. Of course they all threw temper tantrums and said shit like "WELL I COULD SAY DOOM 4 IS BEING MADE BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED YET SO STFU" lol:lol: Oh, and the funniest part of the whole thing, were people saying that Hideo Hashiba couldn't be the main villain because it's not canon with Japan's History. You know, with Onimusha 3 being a TIME TRAVEL ADVENTURE, with Demons attacking Paris in 2004, and the ending with Hashiba being a Demon. The amount of moronic people I see on the net astounds me more and more every day.
You told us that there would be a new PSP but without a drive and a HDD installed, which is clearly not the case and you are still wrong. If they suddenly announce ditching of the UMD and its replacement with a HDD then I'll kneel down and beg forgiveness, but I don't see that happening with the current PSP.
Why? These guys flamed the CRAP outta me and I went back and mocked them later when it finally did come out. I know thats childish, but they were being even more childish than I was. Honestly. Everyone was trying the "But it won't be canon with Japan's history!" shit, with the 3rd game being a time travel adventure. How stupid can it get?
