Hi all! I've been wanting a PSP since I was a little kid. After many years I finally have one, a blue SCPH-2001. It came soft modded and with one real UMD game which is Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. I had to reset it to factory, update to latest firmware, and then install a better soft mod. Any good games I should play? I had a couple on my mind already.
Project Diva 2nd, Project Diva Extend, Street Fighter Zero 3, Ridge Racers, Taiko No Tatsujin Portable, Gran Turismo PSP, PaRappa The Rapper (PSP Remake), and I hear good things about the Valkyria Chronicles series on the PSP. Hope this helps a little
Dissidia Final Fantasy is pretty great if you're into that sort of thing. Also if you liked FF VII, there's always Crisis Core. Any specific genre you're looking for?
I like metal slug so I'll check it out for sure. Definitely helps a lot. I'll have to check them all out. Haven't play FF VII yet. I have it for Windows 95 but I'm missing the first disc. I'm open to all genres. My favorites are RPGs (most kinds), puzzle games, shooters (any kind), and sandbox stuff (like Minecraft). Never heard of them before. What are they like?
Patapon 1-3 GTA: LCS and VCS God of War: Chains of Olympus & Ghost of Sparta Lumines I & II Wipeout Pure & Pulse FF Tactics Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops/Peacewalker Persona 3 Portable Phantasy Star Portable 1/2 Monster Hunter Power Stone Collection Rockman DASH! Collection (import) Loads and loads more.
Castlevania: the Dracula X Chronciles. It's a 2.5D remake of the previously Japan-only Rondo of Blood. In addition, there's a port of the original PC Engine CD version and the PlayStation sequel, Symphony of the Night.
MotorStorm Arctic Edge Riiiiiiidge Racerrrrr Gradius Collection Salamander Portable Wipeout Pure / Pulse
For me after all these years Ridge Racer and Lumines are still my biggest favorites for the PSP, so I would definitely recommend these launch(!) titles! Also I would recommend LocoRoco, Burnout Dominator and Virtua Tennis 3. And depending on which mobile gaming devices you got, I would also suggest trying out the various Grand Theft Auto releases on PSP
I'm not sure why, but I really liked Coded Arms. It's a futuristic FPS. I remember picking it up not thinking much then getting hooked. Worth a shot.
Here's a thread to look over if you are interested in PSP imports: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/worthwhile-psp-imports.42089/ No region locking and an abundance of great, inexpensive, Japan Only releases compliment each other well.
