Hi all My old psu just expired in a spectacular manner just wondering what to buy must be at least 850w and price needs to be in £ and less than £100 Thanks SneakyPeanut
To be honest, i wouldn't go cheap on a PSU. Check reviews for all 850W models you can find, to see if they are any good. I wouldn't put price as an important thing for item like that.
ok i ended up buying this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176413 but there all about the same price it was that or a corsair one really, yeah my old psu was a cheapo no brand one 400w heavery under what my pc needed
you think it be alright for my system: AMD x6 1055t Asus *cant remember the model* evo 8gb 1333mhz corsair xm3 ram 2x nvidia gts 250's 1gb 60gb OCZ ssd 1.5tb samsung 5400rpm hard drive samsung dvd rom pioneer dvd writer via sata card asus sound card corsair h50 coolermaster cm storm scout case
Don't know for sure, but probably. 850W is a lot. Did a search on google and came across these: Those 2 videocards "eat" 300W. http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gts_250_us.html The processor needs 125W http://products.amd.com/pages/desktopcpudetail.aspx?id=641&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
yeah they munch power i think thats why my old psu died earlier i was rendering a video and it was maxing the gpu's and cpu so thats 425w on its own and my old psu's max power was 450w
I've been an Enermax customer since 2003 and I've even converted some fellow geeks to the cause and they didn't regret it. They are chunky and well built, bulletproof if you will. Equally important though they pretty much do their advertised ratings which are often impressive, the only catch if you want the performance you have to pay for it so you can probably only get something shitty with your current budget.
well i just finished up rebuilding my pc with the coolermaster m850w caberling looks neater than it did with my old cheapo psu and it seems to have helped my pc's wei rating! need to re overclock it but im now getting 7.5 on the cpu and on the old psu i was getting 7.2 so all is good thanks for the help though
Get a Corsair TX850 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMP...54EG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298091553&sr=8-1 I use a model that is a step below it (750) And they are beastly. Have tons of power and are very stable power supplies. It's not Modular , but if you know how to rout cables well, you should have no problem
i was gonna get the tx850 as corsair is my pc brand of choose but i bought the coolermaster m850w over it because it was modular and had better reviews
Eh, My personal experience with CM PSU's haven't been so great. Their other products i've had good experience with. But from Extremely loose power sockets to loud scratching noises , to complete PSU failure. Not a fan of their power supplies.
heheh if it fails il send it back and get the corsair one, i got a coolermaster case so i thought it would go better with it aswell. wish id bought the corsair 600t but it was about £60 out of my price range at the time :'(
Well there is one good thing about CoolerMaster PSU, they RMA very quickly and are nice about doing repairs if anything is wrong. Then again , you know, i've heard some people say some of the same things about Corsair PSU's (Loose Power socket, etc) Maybe it's just a random thing lol
