great news! we'll need something like this for saturn and psx too. Years are passing and it'll be impossible to play the discs in real hardware when lasers will die and cds rot...

If your DC laser dies, you can't boot games from SD... because atm you still need to boot the SD boot loader from CD. But maybe that one of those tallented Russian hackers will be able to make a special bios eventually.. who knows :)

    However awesome developments!

Great stuff, just played 15minutes of ChuChuRocket on my sd-card!

Selfboot-CDI and GDI image support would be cool though, but it's amazing already!

I wonder how they're going to tackle multi-disc games. D-2, Skies of Arcadia, Alone in the Dark, Shenmue, etc...

That makes no sense. This isn't being run on a PC.

Just replacing the SD card with a SD card containing the next disc would work (as long as the ISO is the same name), wouldn't it?

Yeah or make a multi iso file switching program. That was what I mean by a daemon tools like program. Heck I still remember I could make a GDrom virtual drive back in the day with daemon tools.

Don't almost all Multi Disc games let you save at the end of a disc? I seem to remember almost everu multi disc game does so, on certain platforms it was a requirement.

That's so cool! Where can we get that link-to-sd cable?

Cool - would like to give this a try. Unfortunately, I totally f***ed up the traces in my DC's board serial output when I tried to rush a mod the other day. (Does anyone know if there are points other then on the connection itself that I could use for a mod?)

Yeah, I'd like to know more about this too.

The site is in Russian and I didn't even know this sort of thing was in development.

I'd love to load some DC games via SD!

    *edit*
After some googling I came across this thread, which doesn't look too good for those without the adapter already :S

It seems very simple with two whole caps in the revised version... although whacking it in internally seems to be the easiest way to make it. Although if someone could mod the bios so that it could selfboot from the SD card then it would get rid of the horrid GD-ROM drives.
