I know the source is not great as as my first thread here it may not be up to scratch but: Game in the uk are listing sonic riders and outrun 2 c2c as 360 bc, Could this mean the start of on disc updates ? Anyone have any info on this:shrug:
Supposedly there is another BC update planned for mid-March. Maybe those games will show up on the new list.
Gamestop over here has been quoting wrong games for backwards compatibility since the systen launched. I would only listen to MS on the BC, otherwise it's just BS.
It is possible to master an Xbox disc with 360 BC code so that the game can play in both systems out of the box. Is that the case here? I cannot say. Just stating that it is possible. -hl718
not yet buts its very possable, esp as sega and microsoft have been talking alot of late maybe its part of a deal
It is possible and Microsoft even stated once that they wanted to purse this. However, they have done nothing of the sort and won't tell developers what they need to do to make sure their games are backwards compatible. There's a quote from SNK about this on the net somewhere.
To make something completely backwards compatable is simple really. If you only use true XAPI calls in your game, it's already backwards compatible (this is why barbie horse adventure is BC). Microsoft just has to run some checks on the xbe. Devs can't make their own BC profiles, that has to be done by microsoft.
As I understand it, if they code it to direct-x spec then it will run on the XBox 360. The only reason many of the games won't run is because they were heavily optimised for the XBox chipset.
