"According to the game's press release, this will be the "third" Shenmue game — that doesn't necessarily mean it's Shenmue III, however. So perhaps don't go looking to this mobile networking version of Shenmue to clear up Shenmue II's cliffhanger ending." http://kotaku.com/5657756/there-will-be-a-new-shenmue-game-but-not-what-you-think So does this mean we're finally getting Shenmue III or not? I'm guessing we can expect a low production budget update of the Shenmue Online concept featuring prominent communication elements along with plenty of mini games as opposed to a direct sequel to the original saga here, especially when you consider how (deliberately?) small its market will inevitably be as a result of both the platform and limited region chosen for its release. Then again, maybe Ryo's adventure will be concluded or perhaps even the whole trilogy remade in this new "world quest" style? Whatever happens, it's clear Sega hasn't yet forgotten about Shenmue and hopefully there's still the chance for a proper continuation of the Dreamcast series... I doubt Yu Suzuki would like to be remembered for being the undisputed king of vapourware - especially now that Duke Nukem Forever appears to be on the way at last!
It will probably be shit. The Japanese do like to play complete shit on their phones while I'm playing some arse kicking Cave shooter on mine. Sad isn't it  Yakumo
I think the best thing to do now is to just laugh. Whatever happened to Shenmue Online, btw? This is exactly the reason why Sega shouldn't release a new console. They just keep shitting out cheap crap using their formerly good IPs.
This is Shenmue Online, a spin-off i think. Seems that people prefers nothing instead of another chance for the series to revive. These are by far the best Shenmue news in..... 10 years?
That would explain why it's not listed on Sega's mobile phone page then. Soit's for the PC? Even less chance of me playing it with my poor set up. Yakumo
First they ruin any chance of a decent sonic comeback by trashing the '4' name, now this... Guess the chick we sacrificed wasnt a virgin...
How the hell do you know. have you played it? Do you own it? Have you even seen it in the flesh? Probably no to each of those questions. Oh, and iPhone doesn't count because NO game that uses a virtual D-Pad works well.
How the hell does a piss-poor minigame counts as a comeback? When 2 guys at some sonic fan site can pull a better remake than SEGA it doesnt speaks too well about the people involved and their commitment to make a good game. Sonic 4 is no Mario Galaxy, period.
You are going on looks alone. Until you've played the game you can't say wether it's good or bad. You could say it "looks" good or bad though but we all know that flash graphics don't make a good game. People, just wait until you've played this before slagging it. It may actually be a good game. Yakumo
Definitely a game is not only about flashy graphics and all Sonic fanboys will try Sonic 4 even by curiosity but the point is that Sonic games were always known about their flashy graphics which gave them a better feeling. Moreover, when Sega hyped about Sonic's dynamic comeback you expect to see a great effort in it and not something "just decent but even a fan can make better things than us". And like I said on other threads if they would use the graphics of Sonic Unleashed no one would complain.
