... prepare to be angry: When they cancelled Silent Hill 9 (P.T) and said they would make new SH games, this is not what I had in mind. lol
Because when you think dark, somber atmospheres, gambling halls are the first things to come to mind. So dark and quiet.
This is exactly what happened to the Ganabre Goemon series. Last game was a pachislot and then they gave up on the series. It's definitely never coming back. Can only be a bad sign they're doing it with Silent Hill now..
I mean, they did implement that completely unfitting rock music halfway through. "Here's a taste of how generic this is!" I love her trying to keep a straight face. Wow, we're all really surprised by this. I don't even want to begin to deconstruct it. Higher level character models that somehow couldn't have been utilized for the SH2 HD remaster? One of SH2's best songs being blatantly misused? Not to mention the complete spoiler. I'm actually disappointed that I supported Konami in the first place. Where did my time machine go...
Eh, you supported them because they made some fantastic games from the NES all the way to the PS2 or so. Now they're fully hogwild on the small risk/possibly high reward mobile train. I can't even be really upset about making a Silent Hill pinball/pachinko machine, because they've been doing that kind of thing for years (I remember hearing about a Contra one like 10 years ago). Of course, coming out with it right after cancelling and pulling Silent Hills/PT is a major dick move.
I'm more concerned with my purchases of the more recent Silent Hill games, despite their dubious quality. From treating their employees like complete crap to running their IPs into the ground, they've become quite the hated bunch. I know this kind of stuff has happened before, will continue to happen with other companies, etc., but it doesn't make it any better. There goes my dream of another Blades of Steel game.
WTF? So, they decided to have a slot machine as a central plot device in the next game. That must be it, right? ...right? ... oh.
These machines are common place in Japan, RE has had a good few made, I'm actually surprised this will be SH's first!
