I decided to go with 3g/4g... Picked up a samsung galexy s3(dual core) with an unlimited data plan... I can live with internet on the phone, but I would really like to teather it to my laptop/etc. US cellular charges an extra $20/month to teather other devices. Someone has to have a good app by now... '
It's basically a $20 a month dick in your ass, as they want more of your money. Jailbreak / hack your phone and tether for free.
No hacks required for android. Install something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=og.android.tether&hl=en
It is an iPhone? If it is you are screwed unless you jailbreak it. If it's android there are plenty of solutions even without rooting the phone (Android jailbreak). I personally use PdaNet on my Android.
I rooted it last night... I remember jailbraking/rooting use to have a lot of voodoo magic in it. It's been reduced to: download these files, install, restart, done... I think most 12 year old girls could figure it out.
I wish there was an app to root newer Sharp phones. My 104SH can't be rooted at all with anything released to date.
FYI don't buy the galaxy s3... It's a POS that will break one of the antennas by looking at it wrong... First few days it worked great, now I can't even make a call from my house without it dropping.
Doing that today... Not an option... Options are... galaxy s 3 electrify M Galaxy note 2 galaxy axiom galaxy metrix
Get a new S3, sell it on ebay, buy a nexus 4 offline direct from google and pocket the change and enjoy a better phone. win-win
I'm not sure why you don't like the S3 it is a decent enough 'phone and none of my friends have ever had a problem with theirs but with the aerial issue aside (I don't recall them being that large or easy to break.. how clumsy are you? lol) the US version is kinda gimped anyway (dual core vs quad core etc). 1080p phones are just around the corner though so I guess it depends how long you are prepared to wait, but the Galaxy Note II looks like much the same as an S3 but bigger. In fact I think it is pretty awesome and I'd prefer the larger screen from that over my Nexus 4... but I like the basic android style without the manufacturer/carrier branding (motoblur etc pissed me right off) and early updates so meh Nexus phablet of the future FTW...
