Weird choice that the spaniards would use a Mexican liquour as their name - but hey, Spanish speaking peoples are all brethren to each other. So, pretty cool.
Was going to mention the whole alcohol thing, but hey at least is isnt Mezcal Works Anyways, but can they run Doom?
But Tequila is a type of Mezcal - it's special ultra-pure Mezcal from the town of Tequila, one hour west from Guadalajara. It's really funny when they mix Mexican and Spanish stereotypes in American media. Like on Man V. Food, when they serve Adam some Mexican food and play Spanish music. Olé!
I know, but you know mezcal is usually associated with that worm stuck in the bottom of the bottle... And I actually find that sort of confusion with spanish cultures (like drawing south americans with mexican sombreros) as kinda racist Seriously, you wouldn't ask a british guy if he's a cowboy
Ha! And nobody even drinks that worm thing, either. They make a salt out of the worms, too, but almost nobody uses it anymore. I know, they lump Latin America and Spain all together as if it were the same thing, when we're all, brothers and sisters as we are, extremely different. Mexico is not even in Central America, it's North America, and it's an entirely different thing from Argentina, which is a different thing from Uruguay, which is a different thing from Colombia - and all of us different, waaay different from Spain. We all speak Spanish but I sometimes have trouble understanding some South American variants, and some weird accents from regions of Spain. It's like that time American MTV had to subtitle that interview with the Gallagher brothers.
I ask them about the name, and they said to me that is a way to atract attention XD, I mean, a spanish dev studio with a mexican name? In fact I think I saw more replies (here and in other forums) about the name that really about the company data XD.
Heh, I guess it's working, then. Every board has at least one mexican, I guess. Some sandwich place near my college had some posters printed with a BLATANT spelling error, and people kept criticising them and calling them ignorant hicks, but nobody ever forgot the restaurant and they had a lot of customers. Mind you, many of the humanities department students did take offence and did not partake of the sandwiches. I for one love Spanish food and culture, and had many awesome teachers from Spain - one of which taught me Mexican History, of all things.
hehe, well the presentation was yesterday but the studio has a year more or less, and the games has been in development for one year too.
I fucking LOVE tapas. Not for the name, mind you, but to eat them. I don't know how they put so much flavour in just bread and ham, but they fucking do, the bastards.
