    Hello Assembler site!

I am new to your forums, but not new at all to gaming or modding! Hopefully I can be a help to someone on this site! I found this site since I was looking up how to soft-mod my original xbox (NTSC-J, Kasumi Blue console). Thanks to this site I am in the process of finding an asian copy of splinter cell to soft-mod!

Never knew it was possible, and thanks to your forums I am happier than ever to be one step closer to having another modded console!

Thanks and again, hope I can be of any help to someone!

Welcome to the site! Wish I knew about what's available for asian models. I've been doing softmods to US versions but will be going back to Chipped. More versatility in my opinion and easier to upgrade to larger hard drives. But the softmods do work just fine, and i've done 8 in the last few months fro friends. I got lazy and just got the softmod memory card at: http://xbmcxbox.blogspot.com/2013/05/original-xbox-softmod-kit.html and splinter cell was less than $10 on Amazon. Hopefully there's something comparative where you live. Welcome aboard!

Hello! I am in US and just wanted a Kasumi Blue to match my COD Blue 360 and my Forza 6 XBONE. I have soft- and hard modded around 10-15 original xbox consoles in my days, but never a NTSC-J. I am stuck on trying to find an asian coded splinter cell as the Japanese splinter cell doesn't work (which is a pain). It's funny, I found 2 original xbox consoles in the trash the other day, soft modded them and traded them out already (took 2 minutes per console ha!).

Awesome!..and the Kasumi blue is on my bucket list for sure, as well as the Halo 2 Blue. Ive been lucky as well lately, there's a game guy here who sells me broken ones for $10.00 and luckily i've been able to fix them all so far (although free in trash would be best!). Wish you the best of luck and looking forward to seeing your newly modded Kasumi.

To go back to this however, what chips are you using these days? I can't seem to locate them anymore, and the 1 I have found, was used/untested.

I have old Aladdin and executor chips from XBox's I had modded back in the day but when I went to find new ones...like you, I found most chips to be out of stock or not made anymore..hence me softmodding. but, there's a thread here: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/xbox-fs-xblast-lite-v1-pre-edition.58923/#post-844333 that's got me excited. Hope to order two when he's able to sell again. I've been doing the softmods and updating old hard mods and the hard mods are just so much damn easier.

Looks good, hopefully comes to the market soon! Thought I do believe the price will out-last the usage IMHO.
