A train derailed in viareggio's station (famous city by the sea, 80km from my city, in the same region) and some of the gas it was being transported exploded.

so far 13 deaths, 50 people with burn out of wich 35 with burn severe enough to put their life at risk. People sais that the firewall was 200m long, some people dead while sitting in their car, some houses destroied... in short another mess in italy.

Some of those images are pretty graphic btw - so if you are of a nervous disposition don't look!

The train driver & engineer survived the accident with minor injuries. They both apparently reported that they'd felt as if they had collided with something roughly 200m from the station.

What a mess, looks like war. My condolences to the dead's relatives and anyone suffering from this catastrophe.

Looks as if the series of traffic accidents got started w/the Air France jet in the Atlantic ocean and now it continues almost daily. A couple of days ago, a train derailed in China, now in Italy and just this day another Airbus crashed into the Indian ocean. Murphy's Law probably.

That looks pretty bad, what a sad story. I hope there any more found in the rubble are alive, like that little girl.

It does beg to ask why such a dangerous load was allowed to be carried near a residential area.
