A new video has surfaced this month, recorded by an individual attending the Shoshinkai show in 1995. It shows extensive gameplay footage of the "50% complete" version of Super Mario 64 present at the show.

Most notably, it shows that the game once had a Mini Map - something I was not aware of before.

It also shows the Stage Select menu and gives a look at some levels with very different layouts - especially Cool Cool Mountain.

This was posted in a thread already. Did it really need a separate thread altogether?

It's great regardless but I don't know if it needs a separate thread.

While naturally I would agree, we can never have enough threads related to anything pre-release Super Mario 64. 'Tis my holy grail.

I've watched this video a few times already. We finally got some decent footage of Cool, Cool Mountain. Also, underwater bombs! I don't think we had any footage of those. The mini-map is also great. I had no idea that was a thing. I think that may have been brought about for levels like Big Boo's Haunt and Hazy Maze Cave as those were among the first levels created. They were very complicated, especially HMC, so they probably felt the need to give the player a map. I'm not sure why they decided to ax it, though.

    I suppose that's fair.

Now when do we find a WIP build of SM64 ;)

Like I've said before, I am willing to pay some serious buckazoids for anything pre-release. I want to play it and dissect it in the worst way possible.

That Bowser's Sub lag looks pretty serious.
