Sorry, Zeitgeist isn't very factual. More "here are some cherry picked quotes that fit the conclusion we give you up front".

Probably, I didn't check if it was factual. It's not like it changed my life or something. :) Just watched it, some parts made sense for me while others didn't. I'm not looking for the answer. I already have it. That's it.

Inside Job is less questionable in that matter and that's what I actually meant writing about facts. I guess I wasn't too precise.

@7Force: Thanks for the link but it fixes just one half of my post.

Why is it that anything related to what's being referred to as "the new world order" or the "Illuminati" always turns into bullshit bingo within seconds?

The main idea behind Illuminati, Bilderberg, Free Masons and whatever other names you might want to call "them" is that they're made up by a bunch of people with similar interests. Just like your football or country club, or the party you belong to.

The higher positions in such organisations (just as within any company or even sand box) are usually being held by people with more power and / or influence; and if it's an international group with international members, naturally some of them (especially in the higher positions) have plenty of power and influence, most likely even on whole states and countries.
Like the RIAA and MPAA who influence lawmaking worldwide. I hope nobody wants to debate their existence, yet they're just another interest group.

So if (or actually, when) they get together they make decisions, and those decisions are obviously most likely to not conflict with the common goals that unite them.

So, do I believe that people with much power who have similar beliefs will unite in interest groups? Yeah, obviously. People with similar interest and similar social standing usually attract each other.

Do I believe there's a global cooperative effort to unite the world under one big government? Yes, and I think that is (at least in principle) a good idea.

Why is it that when I sit in my car and drive for a couple of hours into another country, I suddenly gain 10 rights and lose 10 others? That's stupid and one of the benefits of having a world government would be that such ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense wouldn't influence lives anymore, and there'd be the same basic freedoms and laws for anyone anywhere, no matter what exact geograpic coordinates their mother pushed them out at.

Do I think power corrupts? Yes, however not necessarily.

TL;DR: People always form groups, even people with power, because of similar interests. It doesn't matter what you call them. Their interests might not always reflect the best interests of the people "below" them. That's all.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that article I read some time ago, named "Gaming Illuminati". Guess what site that article was about :p A certain site with users that share common interests.
