I am thinking about getting a stress kit w HDMI as u may have seen on here, but the question is the seller was not familiar with 360, if you add a sidecar to a stresskit would this be then full development kit capability? What could I do or not do?
It can open up some but not all. It will not be a Dev kit. It will operate as a test kit with sidecar.
Im presuming hes talking about a phat here since the vast majority of slim protos cant take a sidecar. Stress phat kits are development kits so are full development kits with and without sidecars. Sidecars on phats give the ability to use PIX and do DVD emulation but are basically just for show now that both functions are capable without a sidecar.
Then what Deep3r said. The stress kits are recycled, repurposed or reused development kits in some cases. As long as it has the 10w pinout for the sidecar near the back of the kit toward the psu port, it should work fine.
Thank Stippo let's see if I can get a good one then begin to learn all about development my brother said quit wasting your money on these just use Xcode on the Mac to develop a game and I tried to explain to him that is not why I am trying to obtain it although I would most certainly love to learn it!
I've explained this to you guys before?? You can play games from your PC's hard drive over the network, it's even in the SDK documentation how to do it. I'll try and find my post from ages ago.
oohhh, okay yeah, but that's not dvd emulation, it just streams it your harddrive. It lacks a few options because of this, like timing, etc. I've used that method before though, kinda neat.
Fair enough, I've never done it the proper way with the sidecar. Hmmmm, makes me want to guy and buy one now haha
I'm fully aware of the SMB loading but that degrades performance while DVD emulation does exactly that, Runs 1:1 like if you had the game on disc in the system. BTW its a pain to do so I really recommend you just shove things in the HDD
