So I haven't been at this for too long, but I've been trying to learn how to repair consoles for awhile now. I started mostly with easier stuff like Gameboys and DS systems, but people started coming to me at my old job looking to have their stuff fixed. More recently I started working on Super Nintendo consoles (I have about half a dozen with different variants of the 'black screen of death' syndrome), but I needed a community that could help me further my understanding on system troubleshooting and repairs.

Right now I'm sitting on a growing pile of consoles, including about eight broken SNES decks, five PS3s, a couple of 3DS systems, two PS4s, and a number of other things. I started getting into this as a way to make a bit of cash on the side (especially in 3DS repairs and resales), but I've come to find it more as a hobby now, since there's nothing more satisfying than making something work yourself.

Anyway I look forward to meeting new people on here, and hopefully finding wisdom in the experienced. I'm always up to chatting if people have time to talk :)

Thanks for the welcome! Sega CD huh, what's that like? I'm a bit uneasy about doing disc-based systems just yet, due to the number of moving parts (compared to older cartridge-based systems). Closest I've had so far was a Dreamcast, and that wasn't turning on because of a hidden ribbon cable deep inside the motherboard.
