So.. anyone out there have newer updates? Back in the day I know there were a few versions out there floating around the "PSP Hacking" scene, but can't seem to find them for the life of me. Somehow, although the documentation says otherwise, It appears that I lost the 4.05 psp kernel that was installed when I did a system init by accident... I should specify: I have been informed that i need DEVELOPMENT TOOL psp kernel firmware updates, that the TESTING TOOL firmwares are different.
kernel or tool side updates, unclejun? If psp kernel, I'd be interested to try them on the T1000, if only just to see what happens, as the psp kernel memory space and format/update procedures are at least independant of the host side.
I assume they are only for the Testing unit DTP-H1500, they come as 4 files meant to be written on a cd-r or dvd-r... I found a 4.05 update for the test unit.
Yeah.. the discs read and launch FINE on the T1000, but fail with a error. I've also heard the DTP-L1500 also has updater restrictions too... So the search is still on for T1000 updates past 1.5 No one has connections even?
The DTP-L1500 Test Tool is for video discs only... I don't think it ever had an update, did it? Firmware updates never really had an impact on movies so I don't think they ever bothered to update those... But if anyone knows of a way to make an L1500 play game code, please let me know! You can't use H1500 updates on it (tried that), I think those are stuck in that mode unless someone can find a different way to flash them (I figure there has to be a way to factory reset the board to 'blank', and then put either L1500 or H1500 firmware on it, which then locks it to that model..? I think the hardware is identical.)
ID Storage probably is the only thing different (flash wise) on these special video discs only units. Mind you, ID storage is encrypted and signed with the Tachyon unique (per device) key. So it's not something you can mod or import from another unit.
L1500 = H1500 with different idstorage keys (and a different firmware) T1000 = Different hardware and firmware than the above (basically it's the same hw with another syscon/tachyon + Communication Processor)
