TBH I never did think much of Acclaim, for me the majority of their titles were not upto scratch however they did provide on occassions some fun. In any case it is still sad news to have an other indistry figure on it's way out :smt022
Well Turok on this generations consoles did turn out to be the biggest pile of poo that i couldnt even give away to some people...
I heard that news a while ago on TV. It may have been Gamer TV, not too sure. Can't say that I'm sad to see Acclaim go. Never really liked their style anyway. Not to mention that most of the games they brought over from Japan were butchered. Yakumo
Never really liked Mortal Kombat to tell the truth. That's another thing about Acclaim and most other BIG Name publishers. They take the credit for other peoples work. Acclaim never made Mortal Kombat, they just published it. :smt045 Yakumo
Turok on N64 was brilliant and so were many Acclaim titles for the N64, like RARE the N64 was their best period. They never acclaim that....
I guess in their defence they did take some effort on the PAL Dreamcast White Labels - they put them in a cool clamshell case with a cover and a manual! Most other white labels were in a std jewel case with nothing -_-
true, they did bring that over. can't understand why they changed the name to Galatic Attack. The original arcade was Ray Force or was it Ray Storm? Then the Saturn version was called Layer Selection in Japan but why called the PAL Version Galactic Attack? Was there an European arcade version called that? Yakumo
Not trying to be mean, but if something does happen (think 3D0) there may be alot of dev equipment out on the market
The Arcade games are Ray Force Ray Storm Ray Crisis The Saturn versions were called Layer Selection (Galatic Attack in Europe) Layer Selection 2 There was no Ray Crisis for Saturn The PlayStation versions are the same as the arcade apart from there not actually being any PlayStation version of Ray Force (Layer Selection / Galactic Attack) probably because it was quite a 2D monster of a game. I remember seeing darius Gaiden on the PlayStation, it was awful because it was 2D based. So I'm guessing that's why Ray Force never appeared on the PlayStation since both games were by Taito. (PlayStation version of darius Gaiden was by Interbec) Yakumo
Not surprised. They didn't do anything last year, and every other game they did pretty much sucked. Maybe if they shaped up, and made some games that were buggy as hell and were 1/2 decent, they wouldn't be in this mess.
Didn't Acclaim do the excellent Smash TV conversion for the SNES? That was quality especially the little cheat to access hi speed mode...
I'm not sure if it was them or Beam Software. I know that Acclaim released it. Not too sure who made it though. Yakumo
