You would still need the ROM board for this to work correctly, I think.

And my best guess on the joystick adapter (thing with switch and Japanese labels on either side), is that this could be used to generate random joystick inputs.

Would the [SONY MSX] External Floppy Drive HIT BIT MFDD HBD-F! work on a Yamaha CX5M?

I have no idea what the neo switch plug does - you might be right.

The Floppy unit should work on ANY MSX, though I suspect it's limited to MSX2 (or better) units. I'm not really up on the MSX scene.

You EDIT peoples' posts here!? That's disgusting.

I was in the wrong, sure, but ugh, ask me to change it - not only does it keep me from wondering if any of my other posts have been tampered with, but it also makes it easier for me to re-do the links (which I now have to re find and paste).

That said putting it at the tail end of a long ebay thread would limit/prohibit/lose any conversation about the gear I'm selling. Perhaps the rule needs to be changed, hmm?

I did edit your post because your links would be sitting around there for hours maybe days if u dint come back...

Also take a look i only removed your ebay links. Lastly any post thats been edited has a tag underneath it. So look at your original post. It will say who it was edited by so you dont have to wonder if anyone did tamper with any of your posts...

Lastly no the rule has been agreed to by many of the forum members and the majority seem happy this way. So no perhaps the rule should stay the same...

Um, no. If everyone here put everything they were selling on ebay in a new thread there'd be way too many threads - that's why there's just one, which everyone checks. If you want to talk about gear then do so in the relevent section, dev hardware discussion, videogames, arcade etc. That way the forum remains uncluttered and everyone is happy ;)

Personally I would have moved your links to the ebay forum myself and then locked this thread.

Perhaps I missed it, but I don't see an ebay forum. Just a thread which really isn't (IMHO) conducive to conversation.

Erm, my mistake, I meant I'd have moved them to the ebay thread.

I guess the whole thing about ebay sales that people feel is that 1/ if you've put your stuff on ebay you've got a big enough sales audience anyway, and 2/ if you want to sell something here specifically then sell it to us first :) Just a hunch though, not saying this represents anyone's opinions at all...

Its a thread as you now know.

Well if you choose to sell things on ebay then people should use the services provided by ebay for conversation with the seller.

If you choose to advertise here at least at first then you get to talk about things here. You can always just post the links in the ebay thread and have conversations there.

We dont however want lots of threads saying for sale when really they are auctions plus not everyone has an ebay account, wishes to use the ebay system and bid for things.

If people wanted to buy things on ebay they would go to ebay and search for them.

[censored] Perhaps your actions, and the rules that forced them, are misguided. Last time I sold stuff on ebay I was whined at by members of this board 'cause I didn't tell them about it. This is a forum for rare things, and the trading/buying/selling and - yes - auctioning thereof. Before this thread was derailed by pedantry there was a useful conversation going on providing info to not only prospective buyers but also bystanders. I'd submit that your attempts to increase the value of this forum has in fact decreased it.

I'll submit to your rules, but I think it's a good idea to consider whether they're really necessary or even a good idea.

I disagree with your first point. Where better to find an audience more interested in rare and dev gear than here? As for your second, I'm pretty sure you're on to something.

Why ISN'T there an ebay forum?

and that said, why should I post my ebay sales in an ebay finds thread? I didn't FIND them, I MADE them. Start a "Your ebay auctions here!" thread if you want people to post their own gear.

Actually I don't see why we should continue the 51+ page bloated eBay thread.
I really do see the merit of an eBay sub-forum. I think ASSEMbler should create it.

The tagline of the last board's sales forum was "no ebay whoring allowed", personally I've always felt that was a good decision.

My second point was that if you want to sell stuff here you should offer it to us first. If you see the merits of this opinion, why stick your stuff on ebay and then come to us?

The majority of members are happy with it so far.

Then advertise them here and not on ebay...

    The threas title is....

"Post your ebay finds, sales and links here please !!!!!"

Your ebay sales covers your sales in the title. We really dont need another sticky thread for ebay and its a tiny number of sellers who really auction off very rare things that alot of people are looking for. If someone does want something they are most likely searching ebay already.

There just isnt enough demand for this to be a useful feature right now.

Follow ups to a feedback forum please!

If you want to sell stuff on ebay don't go whoring it arround here hoping to bump up your prices, posting a link in the ebay thread is ennough because people who are interrested in ebay will look there.

Just Either sell them here on the marketplace to people who really value the stuff and leave ebay out of it or sell it on ebay and go for the $$$.
