What are the best and also acceptable games on the ngage? I know many suck, but I am interested in those that are good or just playable. Any recommendations?
graphically, tombraider, tony hawks. ashen playability wise, most of the puzzle games, monkey ball etc. to be honest though, you can pick up most games for around £1 each off ebay now, so it wouldnt be all that expensive to get a complete gameset
Worms is fantastic, probably the closest you will get to a console version, put's all the other handheld Worms games (until the recent PSP version) to shame. I enjoyed Ghost Recon, despite the iffy framerate, it plays really well. Played it through to the end as well. Pathway to Glory, very nice tactical shooters, bloody hard though. Ashen - Like DOOM/Quake, very smooth and pretty FPS Colin McRae Rally, brilliant Rally game Pandemonium, you will either love it or hate it, I love it. Pocket Kindgom, strange RPG-esque game, would be essential if it wasn't for the fact it randomly deleted my saves twice... Super Monkey Ball, as good as the GBA version in my opinion
I thought System Rush was pretty cool, as were Super Monkey Ball and Pocket Kingdom. Actually buying some new games now, as -like said- they can picked up for next to nothing these days. Oh and stay away from Virtua Tennis.
RIFTS was. Not sure about Warhammer though. There's an Elder Scrolls game out as well that's pretty good.
Woah I was expecting a very low games list but it looks like the NGage had more titles than I thought
I can't remember, it played really well in single player though. I dare say if you look on a torrent site somewhere it will have it for download.
I own both the Rifts and the Warhammer games. In fact, they're both still available for purchase on the Letstalk website, if you don't mind paying retail prices for them. I have a particular fondness for Xanadu Next, Falcom's answer to Diablo. It's an excellent 3D action-RPG with lots of hack and slash, and a vague sort of MMO feature where you can trade cards with other players via Bluetooth. The X-men Legends ports to N-gage are actually surprisingly good too.
RIFTS definitely, very good SRPG Pathway To Glory, WWII Strategy ONE, has nice graphics but every one u fight uses the same fighting style Also there is a version of CIV 2 that was released, but haven't played it Do you plan to use it as your phone? Also there are many emulators, a doom engine that runs .wad files (Doom 1 & 2, Hexen, etc). There's also a software mp3 player, and movie player. Among the loads of Symbian 60, software it runs. I've had the QD for more that two years and it is excellent, with a 1 gig mmc card of couse (movies, music, ring tones, emulators). The only thing that sucks is the screen size... But at least smart movie player comes with a converter that lets you convert you movies so they play side ways.
Good to hear  I think the QD is a lot better than the normal version and the best of all no holding it sideways to answer the calls! BTW not sure but I think your DP maybe a bit to long since its making the template go weird
DP??..avatar??? I'll change it. Anyway, I've bought a QD as a phone believe it or not, being a gamer it makes sense. My current phone is a pile of crap as I switched networks and had to lose my fancy ericsson. The QD has better aesthetics but the lack of MP3 support bothers me, however for £35 I really can't complain. Will be buying the complete collection of games seeing as they cost nothing even when boxed, I'll give full details of my discoveries by the end of the week if anyone is interested?
if you really want mp3 playback on the qd, there are several symbianOS mp3 player apps which work rather well
Doesn't the original Ngage have some feature the QD does not? What about the ability to connect an original ngage to a PC without the Nokia software and stereo output?
