Hi I recently bought a second Dreamcast Dev. Box really cheap and on the HDD was what looks like a beta or prototype for NHL 2K2. I tried making a cdi image but it ended up being to large to even overburn. Below is a link to all the game files I found on the HDD. If someone here can make a self boot image and post it here that would be awesome. Thanks.

    Jake

Nice find!, I've made a selfboot image, after the SEGA logo it goes black screen and then the emulators ( demul and nulldc) crashes, I haven't tested it on real hardware though.

I believe the IP.BIN and the 1ST_READ.BIN were automatically created when I originally used boot dreams.

I think my other post got caught up with the merge/move to the new server, can't seem to find it. Anyway, I think the best way for you to experiment with these files is to load them up in GD Workshop (send me a PM if you need help with this, got some documentation regarding this matter).

Thanks for sharing these files, always nice to have a sneak peek in development files like these.

is it remotely possible if we got our hands on the DEV versions of online dreamcast games... to change the network code or ip address to allow dead Snap games to come back?

Changing hardcoded IP-adresses in games is not a problem, this is already being accomplished by hex-editting retail code and/or by using patch disc or VMU-file. What would help the most is obtaining the actual server files, since the server part is completely separate from the game code.

What's really important is to check the contents of the discs and do a comparison to the final versions of the game, because there might be some leftover files on the betas, or even executables that might come in handy some time (even in the snap-scenario).

I'm glad there are some people willing to help. I messed around with these files for a while and could not get them to boot correctly. If anyone makes any progress please let me know.
