Earlier this June, NECA had a 3 day pre-order sale of 7" Ninja Turtles figures based off the 1990 original film. They're limited edition San Diego Comic Con Exclusives, but for those that can't make the convention NECA decided to sell small quantities online. You get all 4 Turtles with accessories for $125, or you could pick up a combo pack of the Turtles with a diorama for $250. They were hard to get, with each day selling out their quantities in 90 seconds or less! Did anybody here manage to snag them? For anyone that wants to see pictures of these, see below. If you're fan of the original Turtles film, these figures most definitely do the film justice- More photos are here- http://thefwoosh.com/index.php/2018/06/neca-sdcc-exclusive-movie-ninja-turtles/
That first photo in your post took me a while to realize it was also the figures and not something to compare them to. They look to be well worth the money.
They look amazing indeed. However, I don't get companies about their limited edition policy, with examples like this one. They made a pre-order, it was a success, and if somebody wants to purchase them, he has the option to either pay them double from a scalper, or hope that eventually the company would make another re-run. So they make me wish some random company copies them and starting selling them for 1/4 of the original price.
'Playmates Toys' is to blame here- they own the overall license and dictate what other toy manufacturers can do with the Turtles. NECA is only allowed to make these in limited quantities and as convention exclusives due to the Playmates Toys' guidelines.
Maybe they are making them and then scalping them to make there money back...............................
