N64 worked fine recently with my games but after a few unsuccessful attempts at getting my CD64+ with its own 9V DC power supply booting on this N64, now the N64 doesn't output video even with my original games and CD64+ removed. Tested multiple composite N64 AV cables - they work fine on my SNES but they just make a single speaker pop sound/slight screen flash on N64 power on There is normal voltage on the AV cables Cleaned all connectors Tried multiple clean carts many times Tested power supply voltage with multimeter and all was fine I have left it unplugged for over 12 hours but it doesn't seem to be a fuse problem since the light switches on. I left the N64 on for enough time that I should hear the game intro sounds if the audio was working but nothing RAM/Jumper Pak - reseated, swapped, confirmed working in another system Reset switch sometimes gets stuck on this transparent orange N64. Several presses releases the reset. I haven't opened the system to check if the reset switch is actually free, it just appears to be from the outside. I don't have the right screw driver. Tried turning it off and on again Any suggestions? I'll check the reset switch when my gamebit arrives.
Sounds like the reset switch is stuck down inside to be honest. Exactly what I had with mine (appeared fine externally). 2 min job to fix with the right game bit.
The 4.8mm gamebit that I ordered arrived today. I opened the N64. This N64 has had very little use and has been stored in the original box for most of its life. There doesn't seem to be anything mechanically wrong with the reset switch. The power supply works and memory pak works fine on another N64. I also tried an RF converter. Static when N64 off and black screen when N64 on. edit: I never found out what was causing the problem. I just sold the console as faulty.
