I have a serious problem with my Nintendo DS since today. The unit crashes during gaming. It just switches off during gameplay. Sometimes it takes about a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes. It crashes only during gameplay. E. g. in New Super Mario Bros. when I'm running and jumping. When I'm in the menu everything is fine. The same goes for other games. I think it only happens when heavily using the Y B X A buttons. In games with stylus control everything seems to be fine.

And there is no reason for dirty contacts because the system just switches off - like when you pull the power switch.

Has anyone similar experiences? I'm really pissed off with it. Last year I had encountered problems with the PSP, this year it's the DS. I never had any problems with the GBA. The new systems seem to be a bit vulnerable.

Only thing I can think of is battery.
    But I'm most likely wrong.

Are you using a flashcard of any kind?

See if you can't unscrew the back, then take out the battery and put it back in. That, or the battery is dying or doing something weird.

I removed the battery for about 18 hours. I had to reconfigure the Nintendo DS, but the problem is not solved:-(

btw, I don't have a flashcard and I have never used any thirdparty hardware, addons and so on.

Call nintendo and get a replacement. They should be able to replace it (i think NOE should be as friendly as NOA).
