Can different Nintendo DS Flash carts use the same software?

I ordered and know how to customize super R4i skins, but DealExtreme doesn't carry it anymore.

Can I use the software downloaded from their site on another R4i?

The R4 team has long been disbanded. R4i, R4 SDHC, R4i Gold, etc are all cheap clones. Stay away from them. Some don't support SDHC, some don't support long file names, etc. Its such a crap shoot. If your just in it for games, use an M3i Zero. If your in it for homebrew, get an Acekard2i.

EDIT: But to answer your question, probably. Since all these clones probably use the same hacked firmware, the format is likely to be similar.

Or buy a Supercard which can use 3 different firmwares from 2 others card. Probably best solution on the market right now.
