Full article link http://onnintendo.com/Index.aspx?page=1&post=53&year=2006&month=7 This seems to be the case worldwide from what I`ve been reading Also my freind who manages a game store told me the other the day when the DS Lite was released that they sold 30 on the first day and only one person traded a DS Heavy otherwise all new purchases!
I bought mine about a week ago. BrainAge and New Super Mario Brothers did it for me. NSMB is absolutely fantastic. Perhaps the best mario game ever imo.
I bough mine 3 days after launch with brain age! The only thing that sucks is the release schedule until the end of the year looks kinda weak.... at least in the US, in Japan there getting assloads of titles. I might import a couple of games (Daisenryaku DS, Daigasso (Jam with the Band))
having seen the DSlite, i ll stick to my original silver DS. The extra weight is tiresome but it feels more solid. New SMBros is an awesome game, feels like Super Mario Bros.1 and 2 (jap/lost levels) expansion. Nowhere near SMBros 3 however.
Will game stores make a full exchange of an old DS for a DS Lite, or do they just give a discount or some crap like that?
Why would a store offer to trade you a new product for an older model, especially one that's been used? Trade-in would be like anything else. You get some credit for your old system, you put in cash to make up the difference. No one here would do a straight up trade of a new DS Lite for your old DS, why should a store be expected to do it? -hl718
I suppose you're right. I'm just a little sore because I only got mine a couple months ago. I would have waited until the DS Lite came out, but I didn't have much of a choice since it was a gift.
I'm not getting one until black hits america... BTW, I dont know whats all the fuzz with having a DS. On the other hand, I dont know why the PS2 outsolds any other console by a factor of 3to1. The world is nuts...
