    Hello to anyone reading this,
I have an issue with my Nintendo DS Lite which I was hoping someone could provide an answer or suggestion to.
The system has a strange green line on the touch screen, toward the bottom middle-right handed side.
It appears when the screen has any color but white; it is most predominate on black screens.
I was reading up on dead and stuck pixels, but was not sure that was the issue. The reason for the doubt relates to the fact the line seems to disappear when viewing the screen at different angles.
I have to open up the device anyway, due to the X button not responding. If this could be the case of a crack in the DS digitizer, I probably could exchange that without hassle (kind of new to fixing computer equipment sort of thing).
I would provide images, but I am having difficulties photographing the line. If there are any suggestions on what sort of conditions could be set up to capture the picture, I would appreciate any input.
Also, if there are any recommendations for whom to buy replacement Nintendo DS Lite parts from, I would very greatly value that information.

Thank you very much to anyone who provides help to me with you suggestions and wisdom.

P.S. This might have been caused by a slight drop which only happened once. However, it should be noted that no observed damage, beyond a very light crack in the left corner of the bottom device's casing, was evident at the time of the incident (not deep or visible without looking).

It appears that your LCD screen is damaged; more than likely due to being dropped as you mentioned. If the casing cracked... that was a good enough jolt to cause damage to the LCD. It would not be the digitizer; although it may appear as if it is. The digitizer lays right on the LCD screen and is actually attached with a two sided adhesive. It's an easy fix, I've repaired a few, though it has been awhile.

I used to get my parts off of eBay/China, but with a quick search online - I found these US sellers that have DS Lite parts:

Richs PSX Parts: http://store.richspsxparts.com/nidslipaac.html I've actually ordered Playstation parts from this store; they have been in business for awhile.

Retro Video Game Repair: http://www.retro-video-game-repair.com/products/c190-nintendo-ds-lite-repair/default.asp I can't vouch for the store as I have not ordered, but its another source to look at.

There are a lot of tutorials for repairing the DS Lite.... I recommend this site: iFixit https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Nintendo_DS_Lite It has very good step-by-step instructions and good photos to reference.

For a little more money and time - you can go all out and replace the shell - make it look like new.

A small repair tip; use a blow dryer to add a little heat around the edges of the digitizer/LCD screen. It will make much easier to pull them apart.
