According to this, Maccy D's is the place to be with your DS as far as wireless gaming goes. Anyone here watch that documentary 'Supersize Me'? Hmmmm. Excellent, now you can eat unhealthily and play multiplayer MarioKart somewhere other than home. I can see Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC etc soon jumping on this.
Mcdonald's has the overall atmosphere of a low class motel with stained bedsheets. Why anyone would want to hang out in a place with sticky tables and pine sol soaked tile floors is beyond me..wireless internet or not. and yes, I've seen Supersize Me..I havent eaten fast food since, but that's not really the main reason though..
The McDonalds here in Ukiah, California which is on a major intersectionin town has a big vinyl window sticker saying "PLAY THE LATEST NINTENDO GAMES," but if you look past the sticker what you actually see is a four sided N64 kiosk. HAH! It's actually a pretty cool kiosk from the looks of it, though. N64 colors and design with four sides each with its own screen and system. I can only imagine what kind of condition it's in, though, since it's probably been in that horrendous environment for like 7 or 8 years. ...word is bondage...
Though my local when I was in Japan was the exact opposite of UK ones. Swish, comfortable and private little booths that would be perfect for wireless gaming. I could imagine getting an ice coffee then hitting the wireless for an hour! Though in England, I wouldn't even get my DS out in a public place, MaccyD's or otheriwse.
McDonalds should team up with Golds Gym or LA Fitness, not something that promotes no physical activity to burn off the extra carbs their food give.
Wait till someone at Mcdonalds gets killed by a loser or something, because he got beat at a game. And more than likely this will go "Bye-Bye" if such an event occurs.
It's funny the way Macs in the west have a shitty image. I agree that the ones in the UK were always full of low life but over here in Japan you can see salery men eating in Macs. I go there once a week as well. Completely different. Yakumo
Doesn't surprise me. McDonalds used to be the place for Atari back in 82. It was part of the launch strategy for the 5200 SuperSystem. You could win the ultimate Atari setup, or some 5200 and 2600 systems (if I remember from what I read, anyway). I also remember there being some Nintendo related promotions back in the late 80s or early 90s, this not from reading but from going there as a kid. There was also some sega stuff like two years ago.
yeah well its not like they didn't earn their shitty image. The places smell, are full of kids running around and generally don't seem like a place you want to sit in for a long period of time. I assume if they ever accept food stamps, it will accomplish their goal of becoming a staple of trailer park families.
I know just what you meamn mate. In the UK it's pretty much the same. It's just so different over here. I never really went to Macs in the UK and even didn't really like going to Burger King thanks to the bums always coming over for money. I'll take a video on the sly with my phone next time I'm in my local Macs so you can see the difference Yakumo
Well depending where you are.... Lots of suited people eat there and in kfc and other places like that where im working in the city.
Yeah, in any big city you see that. Suits usually use the drive through and eat in their car if they have one, but in cities where they don't drive to work, they're likely to eat their feces-on-a-bun inside. I would hardly consider the presence of salarymen or suits a point in McDonalds' favor, though. They're lowlifes as much as anyone else, pretty much the adult version of the same screaming brats that also frequent McDonalds. ...word is bondage...
I remember in France, McDonalds is a treat for people, as not everyone could afford to eat there all the time. Anyways, Burger King has taken over me!
Not everybody hates McDonalds...they just don't want to work there...ever. I worked in an office over the summer, and though I refrained (bleck!) they picked up from McDonalds several times. I live in Ohio though, so pretty much everybody goes to Wendy's. (The first Wendy's is in Columbus...20 or so years ago you could go in and be served by Dave Thomas, the founder...you know, the guy from the commercials.)
When I was young McDonalds, BK and practically any restaurant was seen as a "treat", not another an alternative to home-cooking. Basically, my family would go to McDonalds or BK only if we went on long road trips on a Saturday or Sunday, and it would be treated as a treat, not something "normal". It was like this when i was much younger too when I was living in Puerto Rico when I was with my grandmother. I never asked her if we could go there to eat because I didn't feel like eating at home, I only asked her whenever we went out to the mall or small rides. LIke I said, we treated it a special event because we weren't well off so eating out was a luxury. Nowadays families go there if they don't "feel" like cooking at home. Thats why we are fat because our parents don't feel like cooking. A homecooked burger is probably "healthier" than a McDonald's burger and will probably not run through your body too . Even now, I have been treating myself to those places like on a friday, but I have been taking my lunch to work, but if I forget to bring my lunch I end up going to McDonalds or wendy's and just get either their nuggets or a salad. I try to stay away from the other foods they serve, they tend to go right thru me .
I really wish they would have added more places to hotspots, i cant stand mcdonalds, its so trashy, and i stopped eating there way before super size me came out, to be honest i thought that a place like starbucks was going to have hotspots, since here starbucks is one of the most popular places to use wifi.
