I'm all for this. Amiibo were never suppose to be rare collectibles, scalpers and hardcore collectors made them rare artificially. It makes sense that Nintendo would do another run to satisfy demand. If you went into amiibo collecting with the plan of obtaining items that would rapidly increase in value, you were only fooling yourself.
Not sure if that was meant to be an insult or not, however it's true: I'm still just a child in my heart. Luckily now at an older age I have some disposable income to buy stuff I want.
HAHAHAA, oh wow, you collectors who paid over retail cost don't deserve a "second edition" label or any sort of designation. I aim this more at the scalper types, though. Just be happy you got yours when you got yours.
There are Falcos at my Best Buy now. I don't really want to collect amiibos though. It's such a bullshit product and scalpers have completely ruined it. I only wanted 30th Anniversary Mario to use in Mario Maker. I got Marth and Shulk (the last one too) for the hell of it. Then Chibi-Robo came with the game, and I've got the Yoshi's Wooly World with the amiibo pre-ordered. I hope Nintendo doesn't pull what they did with Chibi-Robo with other games though... as world 7 in Chibi-Robo is locked behind the amiibo. Considering that (in the states) it currently only comes packaged with the game (where there are versions of the game that do not include the amiibo), it's kinda bullshit for people who buy the game digitally or bought the game without the amiibo.
I've heard that the Amiibos are much more popular (or at least there are supply problems) in the US compared to Japan and Europe, maybe NoA didn't realize that Americans FREAKING LOVE TOYS (I say this as 4 Amiibos are fighting in Smash right now). Or maybe Nintendo still doesn't grasp the whole "America is a very very big place and should get more than Japan" thing.
This amiibo shit makes me want to throw my 3DS out the window, first Codename STEAM and now Chibi-Robo. Hopefully the new Fire Emblem will have nothing or at least very little to do with them.
Of course not dude, I envy you. I wish I never lost that side of me. None of the new game stuff interests me anymore, I miss getting excited for a new Mario or Zelda game. Now I'm more excited when Brussel Sprouts are on sale it seems...Don't let that kid inside you die. Luckily I can still trigger the nostalgic feeling with all my old games, so all is not lost. Makes sense, could be just a simple judgement of error.
Oh come on man, you already know the new Fire Emblem is going to use Marth, (the impossible to find) Lucina, (the impossible to find) Robin, and (the impossible to find) Ike to unlock them as characters in the game. Hell, they may take the Wooly World approach and have EVERY amiibo unlock that character in the game. The only question is... is Mario Cavalry, Infantry, or an Archer?
they already did pretty much, almost every single amiibo DROPPED in price like crazy. Little mac is around 25, before he was like 50, Ike was 60$ before now he's 25 so I am pretty excited
oh greattttt and btw it's crazy how many amiibos there are, theres like 75 of them plus the animal crossing cards like there are so many.
Yeah, and they're not even finished with the Smash Amiibos. Luckily none of the other sets (sans the AC cards) are that massive. Splatton was just 3, Mario was like 10?, and the Yoshi ones is like 4 (green, pink, blue and MEGA). Some people are saying that they are going to come out with (hold on to your butts) Amiibo (figures or cards) for EVERY POKEMON. I mean, sweet Jesus, even if like 90% of them are cards, that's 70 new figures.
That would be awesome. I also saw that there might be some street fighter Amiibos. Btw, about to go pick up my wooly world bundle. I ordered the pink and blue yarn yoshis off GameStop.com this morning in case they were sold out at the store. Here he is!
There's so many Amiibos at my local shopping centre. At first they were sold out of most, however now... there's an overstock. Seems they can't move them.
It happens like that for a while, but then one day they'll all be gone and hard to find. It's like when everywhere had toon link for sale, and I procrastinated buying it, now it's like dry land in waterworld.
Has anyone noticed that Target got a crapton of Dr. Marios? I mean like 4 different Targets in Chicago have 20+ Dr. Marios each
I hope they do the exact opposite and make people who inflated the price of these toys to lose money. Why do you care if it's available for $15? The more accessible the better right? People with that kind of mentality are the ones that are also ruining retro gaming.
