am i the only one that thought that the mini press conference was kinda of a fail? i mean the comunication is nice, but lets face it how useful is going to be? Pro Controller? Hasnt that already been done? It was a lot of useless stuff talk but no actual interesting news. I like Nintendo but i just felt really bored the entire thing

No- the pro controller is so that nintendo doesn't have people bitching about the contablatroller being too big.
Which it is. I was hoping for gamecube controller support, but this is just as good. Analog triggers!

Also- the Contablatroller has clickable sticks. Yay!

What can you do? There's only a certain amount of controller ideas one can use before it becomes uncomfortable/not practical.

I'm just happy nintendo didn't limit the user to the Wiimote or the contablatroller. That would be a disaster, because the classic controller pro is fairly crappy, and you need to have the Wiimote attached.
It was bland and kind of boring, but all I cared really was that the info was presented in an understandable manner.

That's right, Konami 2010, you failed hard.

Hard to say how big an impact this pre E3 presentation is going to have. The majority of the presentation was about the miiverse and how wii u owners can communicate with eachother. The pro controller was throwing a bone to all the call of duty players who hate the wiimote.

The make or break of the system will be the games. We'll probably see those at the actual E3 conference. I honestly have no interest in communicating to other wiiu owners when i turn on the system.

M rated games don't sell well on nintendo products. It's always been the kiss of death as far as "hardcore" games go on nintendo
    system.

They would have sold a lot more if it was:

    1. White
    2. Had superfamicom colored buttons

I wouldn't say that the Pro controller is for COD- sure it opens up the console to FPS's, but it's better suited for games that wouldn't have a need for the touchscreen on the contablatroller. Or possibly GC games (but I highly doubt BC)

I think it's Nintendo's way to really capture the whole market and make their money until the PS4 and Nextbox comes out. And maybe the Wii U will be a better system than the both of them, which I can see as it's got some snazzy features. Sony and microsoft have their work cut out for them.

EDIT- I'm sure they'll release a white version. The Famicom buttons, maybe not. Still, would make for a nice mod.

The Gamecube controller looking a lot like the Hori Minipad controller for the N64. :p

Although the new WiiU pro pad does look so much like a Microsoft 360 pad that they do look seperated at birth.

I think it's a good thing. If it's anything like the Xbox 360 controller, good. Personally I prefer the PS3 controller button layout, but that Xbox controllers shape just can't be beat. So comfortable.

Plus the buttons underneath the sticks may be a good thing- moving a thumb down *could* be easier than moving it up. Marginally, but at least it's a try at something new.

It's a nice thought to have a normal controller but it's probably too late.

As I asked in the chatbox, what about the games that have complex interactions with the TV/Touch Screen, like the shuriken "demo" that you basically have to point it on the screen, how does it work? And wouldn't it probably require the bigass controller to be used (so no Pro Controller)?

agreed on the lateness...but the design is sturdy depending on dpad depth and such.
*shrugs* They gotta catch up with something.

    ..still ...crazyness

Oh wow, a pro controller. Doesn't change my mind about the system. I am willing to place bets that this will be just another Wii. In fact we know it's just another Wii. Family gaming with the odd one or two gamer titles every now and then. I'm not swayed at all and I'm not anti Nintendo either.

I told a friend long after the Wii U announced that they still wont reach the COD/Madden crowd with the Touchpad controller.

Looks like someone at Nintendo had the same though.
