Just a heads up to let everyone now that the Wii news channel is now available (In Japan at least). News comes from the Nippon News Network (NNN) so at least it's current and follows all the big stories. It features news from all over the world with of course the main focus being Japan. You are able to view the entire news or just selected areas such as politics, sports, celebrities and so on. Surprisingly it's actually very good !

inb4 Shadowlayer attempts to rip this thread to shreds.

But yeah, that's a pretty nifty tool. "BUT THERE'S NEWS ON TV NETWORKS!!" Well, at least now you can choose whatever you want to read from the comfort of your couch.

Yeah but with TV news you have to wait until you can see the story you want. With the Wii you can read what you want when you want (pictures as well). It's ideal for those without digital TV.

Yea, been using it in the US as well, ours comes from AP (Associated Press). I hope Nintendo adds in RSS feeds and it would be perfect (well, and quicktime support to the Opera browser so I can use ytmnd.com)

I got home the other evening and my son had already downloaded it to his Wii, then had to do mine

Not bad for a free service
