Those are some insane specs. X800 class graphics in a console...insane. I dont know if they would want to put a 72X drive in there lol they got taken off the market cuase they liked to make CD's go boom. Knowing Nintendo they will probally keep everything as "Top Secret" as they can untill E3 or a couple weeks/days before the official release. I would like to see the features of the custom vid card
i just hope the cpu will follow, you know. That's a Big GPU, that could maybe outclass the GPU of the Xbox360, but a console is nothing if there's no consistancy in the Hardware. ps3 GPU is weaker, but the CPU is damn impressive, and that's why Mgs4 looks so good.
Don't forget that these are first-gen games for the systems, so the programmers haven't been able to truly use every bit of power these chips can give.
linux would run like a charm on that system, The controller can easily do what a mouse can do, there's an SD card Port (and they'll release 4 gb SD cards soon), and usb ports. Add the 512 mb of ram to this.
i thought the rev was using standard dual layer dvd's, though knowing nintendo they will have alot of friggin lock out stuff on them......damm them
AS cool as Ps2 linux, or Xbox and GC linux. And Coding Linux Programs to run on the CELL? Good luck. I forgot to had that the revo have a simple CPU. Not that damn complex thing named cell. That is another good point for linux on revo.
Except that you'd get a three minute load at the very beginning. Ever waited for a NAOMI GD-ROM game to start up? But maybe that's where the emulated Nintendo classics come in. You play Super Mario Bros. for a few minutes while you wait for your Revolution game to load. ...word is bondage...
Hmm got a point. The "Cell" technology seems like a double edged sword. It can pull off some insane stuff...but at the same time it's insanely diffecult to code for. I heard that the PS3 is the hardest to code for out of the Next-Gen systems. Once again Sony has made it a pain to dev for there "Next-Gen consoles. Why do they shoot them selfs in the foot constantly? Owell. There loss.
