This may be the wrong place, but w/e. I recently bought this, and, naturally, it just ends in a circle. No notches whatsoever. Pisses me off that they get away with this, really. But now I need a real one. Can anyone point me to where I might get a proper Tri-Wing screwdriver (if that's the proper name)? Not a bit, but the actual handheld tool.
Yeah, sorry, I was wrong. I'm looking for something to open the four security screws on the bottom, I believe it's a 5/32 socket?
Depends what he's trying to open. Most handhelds use Triwing screws, the type he mentioned, but if he's trying to open up a console, a gamebit would be what he needs.
This guy has quality gamebit tools: For systems http://gamedoctorhk.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=72_1_6_109&products_id=1048 For gamepaks http://gamedoctorhk.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=72_1_6_109&products_id=1412
He originally bought a gamebit, but it was broken. He said he thinks its called a triwing, he was linked to a triwing and said he was wrong. So its a gamebit. Not a hard conversation to follow?
It it sometimes! There's so many characters and keeping track of their motivations, not the mention the rapidly changing plot and the continual adding of new sub-plots can make the viewing experience challenging But yes, get yourself a gamebit, I brought one off eBay that works fine!
I bought me of these kits like 5 years go and it has served me well from every thing to appliances and electronics. An investment well worth the money. There is nearly nothing these kits will not open. This one seems good and has more bits. http://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-2841-Electronic-Screwdriver-135-Piece/dp/B008HYVG6I/ref=pd_cp_hi_2 this is the one I own. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PLZJFK/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
I opened a few games witch the ballpoint plastick trick. But maybe ill buy a real tool someday. (Just to point out for a quick fix, the ballpoint or plastic stick is working)
If you're looking for a set of game-bit screw drivers, I highly recommend this set on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009I6FWOQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 I like them because the bits are physically longer and allow for a bit more pressure when unscrewing systems. Quality wise, they should hold up for some time.
Yep, I know a guy who was successful with this method, too. Fun fact: if you're in need of a gamebit tool really badly and absolutely can't wait for a proper tool to arrive, you could also use a regular screw that has the star-shaped head. The head will fit over the gamebit. Then, just use a vise grip or something to help you unscrew it! Easy as cake.
