It seems ever since the Gamecube Nintendo has mainly stuck to 3 main franchises, Zelda, Mario and Metriod. Sometimes they'll throw us a Kirby bone but for the most part Nintendo seems to be feeding us the same thing over and over again when they have a good backlog of games that are ignored. Granted Microsoft is guilty of the same thing Though in their case I don't see a huge demand for a Kauto Choujin 2 or a New Azurik. With them it's Halo, Forza, Gears oF War and Fable. So I was wondering Since Kid Icarus got brought back after 20 years on the 3DS What other old Nintendo classic franchises should they bring back from Limbo? All I ask is for a new F-Zero and I will buy a Wii U and any accessories they want to shove down my gullet. I remember when a new Mario game was a huge deal, now it seems Nintendo sticks him in something every year (This has, to be fair been going on for quite sometime.) He's Nintendo's Call of Duty.
To bad Microsoft bought Rareware out. I know Nintendo didn't make it but it was a N64 only game before the Xbox remake. Conker's Bad Fur Day. Needs a sequel.
Wave Race. Wave Race 64 is one of my all-time favorite racing games, so naturally I'd love to see a modern sequel. Blue Storm was decent, but it didn't blow me away like 64 did, and it also wasn't developed by Nintendo. A new Wave Race game with modern graphics on the Wii U would be awesome, and that alone would justify buying the system, for me. Sutte Hakkun would be cool too, but I think the chances of that are pretty slim.
I'd be on board for another Ice Climber, Also, Remember Blinx on XBOX? Probably not...but Imagine if they took that premise for a Mario game.... I'm surpised that haven't tried that, Mario is in dire need of something fresh and that would be fresh enough.
I had completely forgotten about Blinx until now, and I suspect everyone else had too. Mario did have something fresh in Mario Galaxy, but now Nintendo seems to be content with rehashing the same old 2D Mario stuff with "New" Super Mario Bros.
I'd definitely be down for an older styled Star Fox game again. F-Zero would be good too, but I agree that surpassing or even meeting the greatness of AX/GX is unlikely.
I remember playing a demo of Blinx (that came with OXM, I think) and thinking it was pretty good. The time travel thing got a little confusing at times, but it was an interesting idea. I seem to remember it had really good graphics for the time, too. I second that. As far as I'm concerned, Star Fox 64 was the last "real" Star Fox game. There was Star Fox Assault, but that game was a mess and didn't really follow in the footsteps of Star Fox 64. There was also Star Fox Adventures, which is actually a great game I think, but it had minimal shooting.
nintendo should bring back the power glove, only not as a power glove, as a metroid blaster for use with a new good metroid game, and a cool visor... or not whatever.
