Not sure if this has been posted here before, but was looking through some old gaming magazines from Spain and saw this.

Tried searching around here and on google in general and found nothing.

Translation (doesn't really have any info, but I'd still want to know what it said if I couldn't read it) :
Future support of Nintendo [refers to addons like the 32x]
Hi Yen. How are you? I have a few questions to ask, here they are:
1- Is any 32-bit support coming out for the SNES? When and at what price?
2- In the end, what is the System 32 from Nintendo? When will it come out? How much will it cost?
3- Is it worth it to buy the Mega Drive 32X or would it be better to wait for the Saturn and Ultra 64?
    Antonio Abellan (Madrid)

    [Answers]
1- Nintendo has confirmed that in the future they will have a 32-bit system. But it's not going to be something you plug into the SNES like the 32X nor a chip that they're going to include in certain carts (like in Donkey Kong Country) to augment their capabilities.
2- It's called VR 32, Virtual Boy. It's going to consist of a portable virtual reality system with a helmet with two screens and a system of mirrors, and a controller with a slot for card games similar to the Turbo Grafx. [The translation on that one was pretty bad, but the meaning is right]
3- The 32X is already here and at a reasonable price if you already have a Mega Drive. The Ultra and Saturn won't be out for a while, and will be more expensive so you choose.

Virtual Boy will return one day, when the time is ready I'm sure Nintendo will try Virtual reality unless someone else beats them to the punch, does this one have at least color? that red with black hurts the eyes.

Wow, it sure got around fast. What I posted was from the January '95 Hobby Consolas (issue #40). Either they both had the same original source or Hobby Consolas subscribed to the other magazine and cut+pasted =P.

Re-Translated this for you guys. It is quite similar to what is posted above. Boy, that spaniard is FULL OF SHIT... Talk about disinformation, man... yeah, you had to deal with shit like this in Spanish Language magazines back in the day.

    TRANSLATION IS AS FOLLOWS:

Hi, Yen! How are you? I have some questions to ask you. Here they are:

1)Will there be 32 bit support for the SN (Super Nes?) When and at what price?
2)What is Nintendo’s System 32? When will it be released? What will it cost?
3)Is it worth it to buy a Mega Drive 32x or is it better to wait for Saturn and Ultra64?

    (Antonio Abellán, Madrid)

    • Nintendo has confirmed that they will have a 32 bit system in the future. However, it will not be something to plug into the Super Nintendo like the 32x, but a chip, that several specific cartridges will include (something like Donkey Kong Country) to augment their capacity. This is believed to be a NEC chip, with 32bit RISC capabilities. There is still some time for Nintendo to reconsider and make a system with the chip within it instead of more expensive carts.
    • It’s called VR32, Virtual Boy. It will be a portable virtual reality system, which will have a helmet with two screens and a mirror system, and a gamepad with a game-card port like that on the TurboGrafX
    • 32x is here and affordable if you have a Mega Drive. Ultra and Saturn will be longer to arrive and more expensive. It’s your call.
    -------------------

Man, poor bastard didn't even get ONE right. A NEC 32 Bit chip in Nintendo software? DKC had extra chips to look "32 bit"? Portable VR Helmet? 32X worth it?

Hope poor Antonio didn't end up getting the 32x because of this.

It seems that all the magazines I see from Spain (at least the ones I find online and the small collection that my spaniard friend has) are all 'independent'. From little asides and whatnot it seems that they (Hobby Consolas at least) got all their news by reading better magazines or from the internet.

Yeah, I counted Mexico, Spain, South America. Spanish Language magazines, I said, were full of shit back in the day.

I remember, around 1994, there were only two major mags in Mexico - and both were tremendously bullshilicious. Still, it was all we had, until we got Atomix back in 98 or 99, which was moderately decent.

Every now and then we'd get Spanish (from Spain) mags in some kiosks and they weren't much better in my opinion.

Still, those that had CDs with videos and whatnot were a good way of seeing games before broadband, I guess.
