i have a old win98 laptop(i updated it from 95) and i'm trying to get the nintendo wi-fi usb connector working, since i have it laying around here.
i'm trying to use these "hacked" drivers so i can use the standart asus wlan utility to use it as a standart USB WiFi stick,
but i'm having trouble getting it to work.

    i'm following this tutorial:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/390312

i know this tutorial is for winXP but the standart rt2500 usb also works on windows 98, so i thought it should also work with the nintendo stick.
i downloaded the "nin_wifi_fullpack.rar"(from somewhere else since it was offline there),
i had to manually copy the rt25u98.sys(from the original driver pack) into the drivers folder since it wasnt included in that package.
i could install it fine, and windows also detects it fine as wifi usb stick, also the led is blinking.
then i copyd the exe's into the right directoy, then i tried to start the wlan utility,
but it gives an error that the wifi stick is not connected(or something like that), eventough it is fully installed.
and i since i'm not using xp, i cant copy the rt2500.sys from the winxp/ap folder......

so, did anyone ever got that nintendo wifi stick working on win98, as standart usb wifi stick?

p.s. i know it might be the wrong forum :x

I think you'll have better luck with win2k or lightweight linux distro.
Chances of getting drivers designed for NT on 9x to work aren't that high. XP drivers on 2K or 2K drivers on XP isn't much of a problem usually.

    thanks for the answer!

i guess win2k would be a better choice then xp?
since it's only a "ibm thinkad 600" with only 266mhz intel pentium 2 and 98mb ram.
i also thought maybe about winME, but as i can remeber it was VERY unstable, more unstable then win98.
but winME would be the same problem regarding the drivers....
