The idea of a system being this doesn't surprise me, but again it's not fact yet.
The only way to know if that's not a rumor is when Nintendo reveals it.

Furthermore, the thought that it's supposed to have an Nvidia Tegra is also bothersome to me as I don't feel that would be enough power to compete with the rest of the systems

The Tegra will definitely be a step up from the regular Nintendo formula but I don't think it will be able to compete with Scorpio and/or Neo. The Scorpio and Neo were announced only recently and God knows how long the NX has been in development so I don't think they factored in those two in terms of competing power-wise. Although, the rumor DOES kind of imply that the Tegra processor is for the handheld only, and there may be a base which adds more power so the tables could turn quite quickly

I read an interesting theory. I guess the dev kits come with a base station. There was questions of why a base station was needed, when it only supplies TV out. The idea was that perhaps there was another gpu inside the basestation that used nvlink to connect with the handheld.

And it looks like this is going to be ninty's new handheld console. So is it even a direct competition anymore with sony/micro

If the NX is merely a tablet with controllers and a TV connection, I'd be really disappointed. So much secrecy around this system for that!

Just to point somethings out they don't have any NX dev kits for what I seen when I signed into the portal. So not sure if they will release this in March 2017

Now, let's hope the NX has some quality games.

Well I mean, it would be really easy to buy one and leak it to the internet posing as a developer so I would assume they're just being cautious with their new technology like any company

hmm yea you have a point, didn't think about that. I know it's easy to sign up I think they only send those kits to true third party developers:p

It makes me sad. I was REALLY hoping they would go and make a splash with a powerful system to try and win back 3rd party devs and the majority of gamers.

I don't see why it should be treated as fact. All of this is still rumors until Nintendo says what is and isn't fact.

For all we know this could be a crafty lie.

So some Nintendo's patent now makes sens, as this one does :

    https://www.google.fr/patents/EP290...ved=0ahUKEwiF1YmZ0JXOAhXKfhoKHa3ABxsQ6AEIHDAA

But I am not 100% sure that the informations from eurogamer are true, or completely true. The specs of the NX may have been changed recently, which can explain the system postpone. But as they yse to do, Nintendo is not looking to compete with Sony and Microsoft, as their target is not hardcore gamers.

I am also a bit dissapointed if the NX is going to be a tablet. But if it include some of Nintendo's haptic features, it can be pretty cool.

Anyway, hope that we will now more about the system during the Gamescom. As Sony will not be present during the convention, it can be a good opportunity for Nintendo to attract a lot of people :)

Considering the "Supplementary Computing Devices" thing, I'd assume that the base station that's meant for home use could house a proper graphics card, hooking up over a thunderbolt-like interconnect to the main console.

Oh, and probably some form of proprietary wireless A/V transmission to HDMI, at least for 1080p stuff?

That's all the hope I have left to cling onto with this one.

Hey, if there's another gpu/cpu/coprocessor in the base unit it could be a nice idea.
Play your games on high settings 1080p on the tv ; pick it up and seemlessly start playing on medium settings 720p as a handheld?

Might be a way for them to try and save their handheld market that's threatened by phones, without releasing a purely handheld console.

Not sure why they are pushing for small screen gaming, it's not like TVs are ridiculously expensive these days.
I'd rather play on a smaller TV screen than a handheld.

You don't think Nintendo have the foresight to see that next gen was gonna bring performance gains? :p come on they're not that naive lol.

Save how? :p the 3DS is hardly failing. No one else is currently int he portable console market.
