Hi everybody,Here's my problem:I've tried different versions of action replay on my Gamecube (dol-101), but there has been no chance in getting them to work! My Gamecube has already been modchipped (qoob SX). It loads the AR DVD but then ends up in a gray screen!I searched for the info however it turns out no AR versions work on Gamecube Dol-101!Any solutions or alternatives? Maybe gameshark or a way to repack (embed) a game iso with AR codes?!ThanX in advance.
IIRC GS and AR both came in 2 part set: boot disc and memory card dongle. You plug the dongle in memory port #2 then boot the Game Cube with the disc. If you did it already, then either the dongle is bad, the disc is bad, modchip is causing problem, or the 101 has firmware that blocks the cheat disc. Do you have access to another 101 (such as a friend's) that isn't modded to test your AR? I only have 001's, no 101 so I can't test mine and see if it works or not.
Thank U for quick reply. The problem is that the AR discs I've got are the backups! Thus, I have no dongle: I lost both (however, I don't know if I I could use my GC memory card instead). Moreover, when I searched the net, I found out there were other guys with the same problem (Dol-101). Even on some websites it was claimed that Qoob SX was the source of problem! Anyway, is there another way like entering the codes into the image of a backup and then burning it? I remember there were some PS1 discs which contained the same built-in code system by patching letting the player to enable or leave them unchecked before entering the game (kind of patching game).
Use swiss? it has cheat support. The PC app for Ocarina will take action replay codes IIRC, then you can export the .gct files for use with swiss
I might have an extra new in package GC AR. Yes I do, 2 new in package still. Do not know what version it is, but includes exclusive codes for Pokemon Colosseuim & Pokemon channel.
Wow! Lucky you. Anyway the problem is that you and I don't live in the same country! Have you got the extra with the dongle? And is yours action replay or action replay max? Thanx
Sorry but I didn't ignore your reply. The fact is that because I did try to run SD Media Launcher (with embedded AR). However, nothing happened and after reading the disk I got the same screen as I did for those AR copies; a weird gray one. That's why I concluded the same result for Swiss! Anyway, I really appreciate your help.
Is your AR backup and the console from the same region? Maybe try holding B when booting the AR disc... dunno, but could be that the chip is forcing 50/60 Hz? (as said above, possible display conflict of the chip vs boot disc) Just a guess which popped up just now, could be totally non-related though.
