ok so i have an noac its called the virtual station interactive. in the future i want to make it portable but i want to make it work first.... so a capacitor popped (im not even completely sure what they do) but the one that popped is right by the power supply. Its the first thing on the way there from the regulator immediately after the capacitor. the capacitor is hooked up between the ground and the input.considering that the capacitor next to it is 16v that is connected to the output should this one be too? most noac operate off 5v. also the regulator is labeled l7805cv if that help itl lead you to the data sheet( http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/en/resource/technical/document/datasheet/CD00000444.pdf) also the secondary capacitor is 470 uf what im wondering from those who are more knowledgeable what kind of capacitor do i need to replace the old one because the cap is sadly long gone.sorry if this was confuseing i tryed my best to sort this out thanks for helping.

Just replace the dead capacitor with another that is rated to the same uf (it's probably 22, 47, 100, 220 - look on the capacitor itself) and the voltage rating. The uf rating of your replacement must be the same, but if you replacement one has a higher voltage than shows on the capacitor, no issue.
