    I just bought a 32" 480p CRT WEGA at a yard sale for $20.

My wife and neighbours obviously think I lost my mind.

    Thought someone here might understand...

Anyone want to come over and help me lift it? Should be OK with 4 people.

You didn't lost your mind; you're just to poor to buy a Framemeister.

No, just kidding, I am definitely out of CRTs, but for 20 bucks, it's a very nice retrogaming monitor.

It's not crazy, that's not a bad price for what sounds like a pretty good CRT. I've had the same one for about 15 years now.

It's a great television, though you should've bought like a 20 inch instead. If it were smaller, your wife wouldn't complain so much. I have one as my main gaming tv, but I can't get an HDTV because of it.

Well, I already have a 32" Samsung LCD for the newer consoles (has 2x component and VGA so good for DC and GCN) and a Commodore 1702 for the older stuff, but I wanted one of these for retro multiplayer sessions, it will probably live in the garage though...

Really anything for $20 isn't much to tell people they're mad.

Post a picture of it :p

Edit: after you get an army to help you bring it home, that is. I'd go help you if you lived near me, but you don't, lol.

I always tend to get questioned when I'm purchasing a CRT of any variety, this one guy that helped me move one time was asking me "Do you really want to bring this?" and kept questioning me about despite me telling him it's worth 300$. lol

Some people just don't understand that modern flat panel TVs can have terrible upscalers.

Or the whole light-gun thing. That's a big reason I still use my old one.

CRT's are still the best when you use composite. I mean almost anything before the 6th generation used composite or S-video.
Not everybody mods their consoles for RGB.

I really wish we had gotten RGB SCART in the US. I hear a lot of our consoles (4th-6th gen) can use it natively, but without a TV that uses it, you have to find an RGB-HDMI scaler or something.

Taken with my iPhone 3GS, so they don't do it justice, but the picture is really nice, amazing scanlines!

And in case you're thinking my house is really dirty, this was taken in my garage.

Just recently picked up a Pvm14 to hold me over until I can fix my 37 inch Mitsubishi megaview. Also just grabbed a new in box 17 inch CRT computer monitor for my old PC games. I certainly don't think you are crazy :)

Do you use that iPhone 3GS as your daily phone?
That phone is already 6 years old, don't see people using phones that old anymore.

Surprised that the OP can put up with it's limited RAM and Processing power.

I do use it as my daily phone! I'm not really into phones TBH, someone gave me the 3GS and I rebuilt it with a new case and battery, it works just fine for what I need (and remarkably can run a playable if somewhat jerky Minecraft PE). Also it's the 32GB version, so I can fit a ton of music on it.

It also works as a phone!

If I want to play games on the go I have Vita, PSP, 3DS etc. But a lot of people comment on the 3GS, it was a nice looking phone, simple and elegant.
